About me

Profoundly effective therapy focused on you!

I'm an experienced Clinical Hypnotherapist specialising in hypno-analysis – a form of hypnotherapy designed to resolve problems or behaviour patterns such as anxiety, phobias or weight issues that may go back many years.

Whether your problem is alcohol, anorexia, historic abuse or repeatedly choosing the wrong type of partner, Hypno-analysis gets to the root cause and resolves it at a deep level. Everyone is effectively programmed by past events in their life to act and feel in a certain way and this therapy uninstalls the programs that are not serving you well. It is particularly effective with childhood trauma, emotional issues, relationship problems, addictions, phobias and much, much more.

What happens in a session?

The first session, which is free, sets out to establish exactly what the client would like to change. It also provides an opportunity to establish that we are both happy to work with each other, because openness and trust are essential.

Subsequent sessions would involve me helping you to become deeply relaxed, and then you letting your subconscious mind wander through a wide range of childhood and teenage memories - a process known as 'free association'. Some of these memories may not seem relevant at first, but they will gradually home in on the key issues which you need to release. Clients frequently find that they dream vividly between sessions and this signifies that the subconscious is working away to resolve past issues. When the process nears completion, the dreaming returns to normal, typically after six to twelve weekly sessions.

What can I expect to achieve?

At the end of the process I would expect a typical client to feel far more relaxed, confident, unburdened and happier in their own skin. In many cases the outcome can be truly life-changing. If, for example, one of your subconscious core beliefs is that you don't deserve to be treated with love and respect, you may have spent many years being attracted to partners who will not love and respect you. By changing the core belief, you change who you are attracted to, and consequently find a partner who treats you with the love and respect that you deserve.

Additional information

The initial consultation is free - subsequent sessions cost £70 per hour.

I offer a free initial 1 hour consultation which is completely without obligation. During this time I take a detailed client history and give an honest assessment of whether I think I can help. If I can, and the client is happy to proceed, we agree a timetable of weekly sessions which are charged at £70 per hour. The number of sessions required may be as few as 1 or 2, and is very unlikely to exceed 7 or 8 even in the most complex cases.

Further information

What is hypno-analysis?

Hypno-analysis is effectively psycho-analysis which takes place with the client under hypnosis. Undertaken in this way it is fast and effective, and often produces life-changing improvements to the client’s emotional well-being. The subconscious mind is like a self-programming computer, but unfortunately for us, some of the programs it generates are not in our best interest. Phobias are a good example. We may know consciously that spiders do not present a threat to us, but our subconscious mind has decided that they do, and it generates extreme fear when we see one. Under hypnosis, a client can re-visit the event that caused this ‘program’ to be installed, and it can then be un-installed.

How does it work?

Hypnosis is really nothing more than a state of deep relaxation, and in that state the client has access to memories and emotions in the past that are generally not accessible in the conscious state. Under hypnosis, events are not so much remembered as re-lived, and the emotions that were felt at the time can be expressed and consequently released.

Releasing your true potential.

By releasing all the unhelpful emotional baggage that we have accumulated since early childhood, we actually become the person who we were destined to be. Many of the negative emotions which we routinely express (such as anger or guilt) have actually been trapped in us at key stages in our childhood. This therapy unburden us of them, and many clients report that it feels as if they have just taken off a rucksack which they did not realise they had been carrying.

What is it like to be hypnotised?

Many people’s perceptions of hypnosis have been acquired through watching stage shows of people being encouraged to do silly things. The reality is very different - hypnosis is a pleasant daydream state in which our deep relaxation allows us to detach our mind from the present and focus effortlessly and clearly on, in this case, events in our past.
