Richard Newman, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist DHP, AfSFH, MNCH
The most important key to a successful course of therapy is the empathy and rapport developed between you and your therapist. This is why it is so important that you have the opportunity to have an hour finding out how comfortable, engaged and confident you feel about achieving what you want with my help. This hour is free, and without obligation and, at the end of it, you will take away a stress reducing hypnotherapy CD and be ready, when you feel good about it, to book your next appointment. Just send me a message through this site and you can arrange this for yourself.
A Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist working in Glastonbury, I have an Enhanced DBS certificate for working with vulnerable adults and children.
I combine Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, NLP, TNI and Mindfulness techniques as best suits each of my clients.
Our initial consultation will give you the opportunity to find out exactly how we will work together to successfully achieving your goals. You will gain an immediate insight as to how negative mental states you have been experiencing are generated and how we will move on to help you experience your preferred future. You will also receive a 50-minute hypnotherapy CD together with instruction on how to use it for maximum benefit. My practice is situated in Glastonbury Somerset, but I can also offer sessions for you over Skype if you prefer this.
If you do have issues around anxiety or depression, insomnia, confidence, pain, phobias (such as fear of flying or dentists), addiction (including alcohol or smoking), weight loss, or panic attacks and would like to discuss therapy for these issues or any other concerns, please contact me by telephone or e-mail me with the best times to contact you.
I do offer discounts to students, pensioners and those in receipt of state benefits.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a powerful and well-proven form of psychotherapy that encourages people to work towards their preferred future, focusing on how you want things to be. Unlike some forms of psychotherapy it is not problem focused and does not require you to revisit painful experiences; instead, it can be effective in helping you reduce your experiences of stress, anxiety, depression and pain and support you in gaining clarity and direction and moving towards the future you desire for yourself. It is fast and effective therapy and can be used to good effect for all the areas listed below.

HELPING PARENTS AND TEENAGERS.
Over the last three years, I have researched and have a special interest in teenage mental health. This is an area where much important neurological and psychological research is being done at this time.
Reducing stress in the teenage years can have life changing, long term benefits (for the teenager and their family).
I offer a special course for parents of teenagers (12 - 24) which explains the associated behavioural changes and challenges and the brain science behind them. It is an enlightening course designed to help parents understand what their teenagers are experiencing, how to help them and also feel less stressed themselves! When parents understand what is going on in their teenager's brain they can more confidently handle the inevitable teen crisis which previously caused them stress and grief. In addition, the hypnotherapy and relaxation tips help make this a really empowering opportunity to turn things around.
It is not unusual for teenagers to suffer from sleep problems, self-esteem and confidence issues, anxiety and depression at some time. These symptoms can seriously affect their education and while they may be temporary they can go on to form the foundation for long-term difficulties. Addressing them with the right therapy intervention can enhance their happiness and academic achievements as well as their productivity throughout their adult lives.
I am available between 9 am and 8 pm weekdays and 10 am till 4 pm weekends at my practice in Glastonbury and also on Skype if you prefer.
