About me

Hello, are you suffering from anxiety, or feel controlled by an addiction, experience panic attacks, phobias or have low self-esteem/confidence issues that you would like to resolve? You may be feeling stressed or having trouble relaxing or sleeping.

In a tranquil, safe and calming environment we can explore together the issues that are preventing you from living the life you would like to live.

How can I help you?

By using Cognitive Hypnotherapy, NLP and positive psychology we will use your own natural trance state to assist in uncovering the feelings, thoughts and memory patterns that have lead to the negative behaviour you would like to change. Once we have uncovered these issues we will modify the patterns by using your own natural trance state, so that you are able to control your own behaviour in a positive way. I have successful experience working with children, teenagers and adults.

How is Cognitive different to traditional hypnotherapy?

Each client’s problem, phobia or fear is formed uniquely, even when a universal label is given to it (such as 'anxiety' or 'depression') and is shared by many people. Consequently, each client will require different, bespoke, evidence based treatment techniques; connected together by a pattern of suggestion based on their own way of thinking. This leads to a long term tailor made solution.

What can you expect on your first session with me?

Our initial session will probably take about 90 minutes. During this time we will discuss what you would like help with and the history behind your issue. I may ask you some challenging and 'in depth' questions; but please be reassured that I will do this as gently and as respectfully as possible. It is essential that I understand you and how you live your life at the moment to be able to help you change ingrained unwanted behaviour.

I understand that this process may make you feel nervous, therefore I will do my best to ensure our sessions are conducted at your own pace and that treatment is tailor made to meet your individual needs. This means that all our sessions will take into account your unique values, beliefs and capabilities, leading to the best possible solution for you.

After saying all that, there is no reason why humour can't be part of our sessions too!

Why choose to come and see me?

I offer a free, no obligation, half an hour initial 'getting to know each other' session', so that we can meet and you can decided if I'm the right person to help you. Choosing a therapist is an important and individual choice.

Since qualifying as a Staff Nurse in 1994 and also working as a volunteer for the Samaritans, I have been fascinated at how listening and well chosen words can alter a persons negative state of mind. I have been able to ease physical and emotional pain by guiding people from a variety of backgrounds through challenging times in their lives.

Please take a look at my website to learn more about me and how I can help you. If you have any questions at all, you are very welcome to contact me by email.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
Louise.

Testimonials

"Before treatment my wife and I were at ‘rock bottom’ with no way to turn, now sixteen weeks on and we have our daughter back! Louise carefully nurtured her and instilled reliable and practical coping mechanisms by using cognitive hypnotherapy, designed to give her a method of dealing with her fears and anxiety about attending school."

"Today our daughter manages her anxiety successfully and has returned back to school full time and is enjoying life much more!"                                                     Mr & Mrs Overjoyed Parents of Stilton -2016

"Her relaxed manner and the ease at which I was able to talk to her enabled me to realise and confront the issues that I had had for a number of years.

With her help in enabling me to discover these issues and with her skill for helping me change my outlook on them, she has helped me become a more confident person both in my work and personal life."                B.C - Systems Analyst - 2016

"Louise really helped me in a caring and professional way to explore and deal with some difficult issues from my past that were stopping me from moving forward. I now feel more confident and less anxious in situations that previously caused me difficulty and I am grateful to her for this. I know I couldn't have done this on my own and I would highly recommend her."                                                                                                                              T.L - Former Member of Parliament.
