About me

I specialise in helping adults and older teens get back on track! I enable my clients to get back control in their life - whether it is being free of stress and anxiety; living without a fear or phobia, gaining focus, confidence and self-belief to enhance performance at work or in sport; or to achieve more calm and control through pregnancy and birth. I have a particular specialism in horse riding with confidence and supporting Highly Sensitive adults and parents of Highly Sensitive Children.

My clients often say to me that they don't know how they got to 'into this place in their life'. They know they aren't happy there but they don't know what to do to make things better.

I help my clients to get their lives back on track, by enabling them to take back control and helping them to regain their confidence so they can feel happy and positive and looking forward to a positive future.

What sets me apart is that I use a solution focused approach. I only focus on the future and how we can achieve positive outcomes rather than dwelling on the past. I use a simple and effective process which can turn people's lives round. I help them to understand why they are suffering the way they are, help them to set positive goals for the future, identify and undo any negative behaviour patterns that may be holding them back, create positive new behaviour patterns and habits and then lock those in for permanent change.

If you would like to find out how you can get your life back on track, call or text me now on 07894 555075 and book your free initial consultation.

Testimonials from my clients:

"I arrived at Emma's wondering whether my emotions and sleep could really be sorted out in this way. Straight away I was put at ease and assured this could be achieved. From the first session I could see progress and after completing 6 weeks I am now in control of my emotions and sleep is something I no longer need to worry about. Thank you Emma - you have been amazing and I know I have the confidence now to keep myself on track!" Sue Devon

"I decided to visit a hypnotherapist as I was under unusually high stress resulting in very poor sleep. I wanted a solution to help me sleep better, not to pick over the past. My sessions with Emma were sometimes challenging but always rewarding and often fun. I learnt a lot and it was very interesting. I understand a lot more about how my brain works now so I can recognise what is happening and take control of my thoughts. I feel a lot more positive and less anxious and I sleep better too. I am a lot happier and hopefully that will make me an easier person for others to be around. If you’re thinking of visiting a hypnotherapist, I’d say keep an open mind and put the effort in, it's more than worth it". (Anon, Devon)

'Emma has shown me how to be in control of my own mind – how to respond rather than just react. She explained very clearly and memorably how the brain works, and how it really is possible to disarm and deflect those treacherous thought-patterns which breed anxiety and depression. Her scientific and practical methods have transformed the way I cope with chronic physical pain, and have built my confidence and self-esteem. In fact, all the previously tricky areas of my life have lost their power to faze me. I’m so much calmer and happier as a result. I can’t recommend Emma highly enough'. Ruth, Winkleigh

'I am so pleased with the results of my hypnotherapy sessions with Emma. At first, I wasn’t sure that hypnotherapy would work for me, but I am now utterly convinced that it has changed the way I think and feel for good. I came to Emma primarily for claustrophobia. Various situations would cause me to panic, and this was inhibiting my lifestyle. Through a series of visualisation exercises, Emma helped me to see these situations in a different light. They now have no effect on me at all and I no longer have to avoid them. I am so pleased, it is as if my mind has been reprogrammed and I can start again. Emma has also shown me how to anticipate future events in a positive way; calmly and with confidence. This has helped me greatly in my work. I would recommend Emma to anybody thinking of hypnotherapy.  She has a relaxed and friendly manner, and will work patiently with you to achieve your desired result.'
Nadine, Devon

'I always have tried to maintain positivity in my life yet I was constantly held back with anxiety and depression which started after giving birth to my first child in 1995. I was firstly diagnosed with post natal depression and so prescribed medication started. I had another child in 1999 and gave up work to be a housewife/mother and I was thrilled.  However, over time I noticed I kept getting severely depressed and suffered over and over with anxiousness. Prescribed medication was my lifeline of survival on and off for a period of approximately 18 years!!!!

Eventually, as the children grew I decided to return to work early in 2014 to try and regain some confidence and realised I wasn't coping too well under pressure and once again I became extremely anxious. It was around this time I was introduced to Emma Treby. To say I was excited about hypnotherapy was an understatement. Initially, I asked for help with my weight and after chatting with Emma it soon became clear what my underlining problem was. My first session I do remember saying to Emma “I won't be able to relax you know” So Emma got to work with her ‘magic’ because to me that's exactly what this experience has been. On that first session I did relax and I fell into a lovely relaxed state.

Emma helped me to understand exactly why I kept on reverting back into depression/anxiety and for the first time I finally understood my ‘own’ mind!  To finally understand why I behaved the way I did and I learnt how to focus my mind into a relaxed state so that I can cope with what life is capable of throwing at me. I feel, for the first time I might add, in complete control of my actions. I am able to reduce a stressful situation into its rightful place which is nowhere in my mind. I can look outside the box instead of feeling contained inside it!

To say that Emma has changed my life is not enough , she saved it!!!! I have a new found confidence I never had before, I know my place in the world is valued and I value it too. If your reading this and are sceptical about hypnotherapy please reconsider as it too can change your life for the better. You will sleep, cope, work, live and love better. What more could you ask for than having your own self worth and to know your own mind. To finally take control and be the strong independent loving woman I am today has been life changing and magical and I have Emma to thank for this and saving my life!' Tracy, Crediton
