Angela Brown. DHP. MNCH(Acc). MHA. CNHC.
I have been practising Hypnotherapy / Psychotherapy since 1979. I trained at the “Blythe College of Hypnosis, Counselling and Psychotherapy“, where I obtained my diploma. I have continually practised since then and I have updated my training by going to various courses, workshops and seminars.
I see clients usually once a week and when they improve, once a fortnight then and once a month etc. My initial consultation lasts about an hour and is at a reduced price. During it the client tells me their problems and I tell them what tried methods I will use to help them.
I am an eclectic therapist. I use hypnosis for ego strengthening and as a diagnostic tool. I use regression to pinpoint the root causes of the problems. I also use NLP, Psycho-imagination Therapy, etc. I believe in treating the underlying causes of the problems instead of only the symptoms, in order to prevent recurrence or substitution to something else.
What some of my clients have said:
"My nightmare has stopped. I have not had one after all these years.
I did not think it would be possible. My weight is stable after a loss of
21lbs. This is a sincere thanks to you. I am so happy. You are very
professional and kind lady. I wish you well." M.P.
"Dear Angela, Thank you so much for your help. Your self hypnosis
technique worked a treat with the several hospital visits that I've had
to make recently. I felt no anxiety at all, it was wonderful. You have
helped me with various problems, slimming, bereavement, and some
more trivial issues. Hypnosis for me is a good way to cope with life's
problems. I will recommend anybody and everybody to try it." P.B.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an accredited member of the National Council of Hypnotherapists, and a full member of the Hypnotherapy Association. I am also registered with the Complementary and Natural Health Care Council.
Over the years, I have met a number of clients who would have loved to rewrite their history, not making and often repeating the mistakes of the past. I have seen them as, the capable ones suffering from a lack of confidence, the attractive ones with a poor self-image, the anorexic ones with a distorted body image, and the usually brave ones frightened of a little spider. Of course, there have been clients whose problems were just bad habits needing a little help.
I have found my work as a “hypnotherapist / psychotherapist” has been the most fulfilling career that I could have ever wished for. I hope that I can help you. At least I will try my very best.
In my previous working life amongst other jobs, I was a civil servant for 15 years, and during this period of my life, I also became qualified in Swedish Massage and Beauty Therapy. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to give up my civil service job and look for work that I could practise from home. That is when my study in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy started. I feel very privileged to have had excellent teachers, such as Peter Blythe, Dr Brian Roet, Michael Joseph, Bill Atkinson-Ball, Mervyn Jones and many more. I also meet with other therapists on a regular basis for mutual support and exchange of ideas in Basingstoke.
