Removing bruxism with hypnotherapy

Your teeth do not grind themselves, and no-one else is grinding them for you. Every part of your body is animated by your very own consciousness and your consciousness alone. Sometimes you are aware of the reason for animating your jaw (you could be chewing a mouthful of delicious cheesecake for example), and sometimes, as in the case of bruxism, you’re not. In fact you could be fast asleep, which is a state of unconsciousness, and as such you’d have no idea as to why you were grinding your teeth or even that you were doing it.

If you are conscious of the reason for grinding your teeth, this reason is in your conscious mind and if you are not aware of the reason for grinding your teeth, the reason is in your subconscious mind. There is no effect without cause. There is a reason for everything, even you personally don’t know the reason.

Unlike cheesecake, this concept is sometimes hard to swallow for those that aren't initiated in the field of consciousness and don’t work with it every day. Obviously it’s hard to get to grips with something that’s intangible, and so bruxism sufferers usually resort to treating the symptoms of bruxism rather than the cause. Buying a gum guard is very easy and will work reasonably well until you forget to use it. You only need to forget to use your gum guard once in order for you to damage your teeth. Hopefully the person that sold you the gum guard is a dentist and can fix the damage.

Perhaps it would be a better idea to discover the subconscious cause of the bruxism and to resolve the issue. To resolve the underlying issue, one needs to communicate with the subconscious mind and the best way to do this is through hypnotherapy. A skilled hypnotherapist will be able to guide you into hypnosis, discover the cause of bruxism and to then resolve it. Cheesecake always seems to taste better when you have a gleaming set of healthy teeth.
