About me
Hi, and thanks for stopping by.
If you're looking to make real, long-term positive changes in your life in a relatively short period of time, then solution-focused Hypnotherapy might be for you.
I’m a fully qualified and accredited Clinical Hypnotherapist. I practice a modern, evidence-based form of psychotherapy and hypnosis called solution-focused hypnotherapy.
What's solution-focused hypnotherapy (SFH)?
Whilst many talking therapies focus on problems and issues of the past as part of their treatment model, SFH will help clients recognise they already have the resources and qualities required to meet their goals.
We combine some of the most effective parts of psychotherapy (talking therapy) with hypnosis. Our approach is influenced by neuroscience; in particular how the brain creates anxiety, stress and a whole range of mental health issues and feelings.
5 Reasons why Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is often the preferred option
- We don’t focus on the root cause of the issue or past trauma. It's forward thinking and uses some of the latest and most effective components of psychotherapy to help you identify practical steps to that will help you achieve your goals
- It’s evidence based. We’ll incorporate what neuroscience tells us about brain functionality to help explain how you feel and behave the way you do – invaluable knowledge that sets us apart from other therapeutic models
- Results can be achieved in a relatively short period of time. Typically, between 6 to 12 sessions (give or take)
- It’s adaptable. Not only can it be used to treat and improve mental health, but it can also be used to optimise performance; whether that’s in sports, the creative arts or in the workplace
- Changes are long-lasting - sustained by a range of practical techniques and strategies that you can utilise for the rest of your life.
It's all in the brain:
I’ll help you understand how your brain can negatively impact your perspective, mental health and behaviour. We’ll work together on developing strategies, plans and practical techniques that will help you beat anxiety, build resilience, break bad habits and manage stress.
What to expect from each session
You can expect a positive, safe and collaborative experience with every session. The first half is the talking therapy part; followed by hypnosis.
Unlike a number of other forms of talking therapies, such as counselling, we won’t re-visit or focus on the root cause or past traumas of our clients' past. Instead, we’ll focus on helping you recognise that you already have the strength, tools and resources needed to meet your goals.
There will always be a section where I explain how your brain is impacting how you feel, act and think - both positively and negatively. You'll learn about the difference between our primitive and intellectual brains; all linked to how anxiety, stress and negative thinking is caused - genuinely interesting stuff!
Hypnosis and it's additional benefits explained
Hypnosis is a natural, deeply relaxed state of focused attention; one we all experience in our day-to-day lives – for example when we watch TV or exercise. It was recognised as a valid treatment for patients in 1955 by the British Medical Association.
You will always be in total control and fully aware throughout the process.
The hypnosis always follows the talking therapy part of each session. This is because, when we are in the trance state (hypnotic state), at a subconscious level, we are more receptive and capable of making positive, long term psychological and behavioural changes. It’s also very relaxing and my clients often feel re-charged afterwards.

info Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
Important to say that I don't just treat adults, I also treat young adults & teenagers experiencing issues that have included anxiety, self-esteem and self-confidence.
