Hi, I’m Terrie, a qualified Hypnotherapist based in Burton-on-Trent, supporting the surrounding Staffordshire and Derbyshire areas and working online with clients across the UK/worldwide. I specialise in anxiety conditions, weight loss and sleep issues.
Before training in hypnotherapy, I spent many years working as a neonatal nurse and midwife within the NHS, supporting families through some of life’s most delicate and emotional moments. I also know first-hand what it’s like to work in high-pressure sales and marketing roles, where stress and self-doubt can quietly build over time.
These experiences have shaped the compassionate, down-to-earth approach I bring to my work today, helping people find calm, confidence, and clarity when life feels overwhelming.

How Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy works
My approach combines Clinical Hypnotherapy with elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotional Freedom Tapping (EFT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Mindfulness and IEMT.
This blend creates a calm, empowering, and non-judgemental space where we focus on what’s working well, build on your strengths, and set meaningful goals. During the talking part of the session we will concentrate on how you want to be, not how you are, followed by hypnosis. Rather than dwelling on the problem, we keep the focus on solutions, progress, and possibilities, helping you move towards feeling calmer, more resilient, and more in control of your life
Hypnosis can help you access a relaxed, focused state where you may begin to develop more helpful patterns of thought and behaviour. There is nothing stage like about this, it’s a very similar stated to when you become less aware of your thoughts when running, or driving home from work.

Discovery session
I offer a 40-minute, no-obligation, Discovery Session, either face to face in my clinic room in Burton on Trent or online
This first session lets us get to know each other and the opportunity for you to explain how you are feeling. I’ll also explain how hypnotherapy works and how it could help you, answer your questions, and then we can chat about working together and how the sessions may proceed.
How many sessions will I need?
Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy is typically a short- to medium-term approach. Many clients notice positive shifts within 6–12 sessions, though the exact number depends on your goals and how you’d like to use our time together. The sessions are very client focused.
The process works by supporting the brain’s natural ability to re-wire and create new patterns (known as neuroplasticity). Each session focuses on progress, growth, and small, achievable steps toward the life you want.
For your safety and wellbeing, I’m unable to work with anyone currently in crisis or experiencing conditions such as psychosis. In some cases (for example, with addiction, eating disorders, or specific medical conditions), I may ask for written approval from your GP or healthcare provider before we begin, to ensure hypnotherapy is suitable for you.
Face to Face or Online?
I have a first-floor clinic room at Alice & Co, Burton on Trent. This is a beautiful, private clinic with free parking to the rear. If you live in Burton, Derby or the surrounding areas of Swadlincote, Barton, Anslow, Branston, Littleover, Mickleover, Repton, Hilton or Tutbury it is very easy to access. If you live further away or would you prefer to stay in the comfort of your own home I offer online sessions. Some of my clients have happily had a mix of face to face and online depending on their circumstances that week.

Member organisations
The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) was set up to provide information about a modern form of Hypnotherapy and its associated benefits to members of the public. The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.

I offer online and face to face sessions. Face to face sessions are available in my clinic at Alice & Co, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Online sessions Monday to Thursday, and Saturday.
Further information
I have an office at Alice & Co, Burton on Trent, where I can see clients face to face. I also work online making therapy accessible wherever you are in the world. Clients can have a mix of face to face and online sessions if this is more suitable for them.
