About me

About Me
I’m a Clinical Solution-Focused Hypnotherapist supporting people to feel calm, confident and back in control when anxiety begins to affect the body, behaviour, or medical experiences.

Many of the people I work with aren’t “anxious types” — they’re capable, practical people who have found themselves dealing with symptoms such as bladder urgency, jaw tension, sleep disruption, or anxiety around medical procedures and treatment.

My approach combines evidence-based neuroscience with warmth and empathy, helping you understand what’s happening in your mind and body — and, more importantly, how to change it.

Clients often describe me as steady and reassuring. I focus on making things make sense, so you can move forward with confidence, rather than feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

How I Work
I’m a fully qualified, CNHC-registered Clinical Solution-Focused Hypnotherapist (HPD, AfSFH), with a background in health and social care.

My work is grounded in neuroscience and focuses on how the nervous system responds to stress, pressure, and perceived threat.

I specialise in mind–body conditions, where the brain and body become caught in unhelpful patterns.

This includes:
 • bladder urgency and frequent urination

• jaw tension, teeth grinding and bruxism

• sleep problems and racing thoughts

• IBS and stress-related digestive issues

• persistent worry loops and anxiety

  • Misophonia

I also specialise in medical and treatment-related anxiety, including:

• fear of MRI, CT scans, hyperbaric chambers and medical procedures

• needle phobia and blood test anxiety

• fear of surgery and anaesthesia

• radiotherapy mask anxiety

• coping with chemotherapy, radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy

This includes support with treatment side effects, such as:

• anticipatory nausea

• loss of appetite

• fatigue and sleep disruption

• anxiety before and during treatment

Sessions are structured, practical, and forward-looking. Each session combines Solution-Focused Brief Therapy with Clinical Hypnosis, helping you calm the nervous system, build new patterns, and regain a sense of control.

Where I Practice
I work with clients across Belfast and Garvagh, as well as online.

📍 Belfast Chiropractic & Complementary Therapies Clinic

📍 Willow Wellbeing (previously Body & Mind), Garvagh

💻 Online sessions available

All locations provide a calm, discreet environment where you can focus on your wellbeing.

Specialist Experience
Alongside private practice, I work closely with the team at The Cancer Centre, Belfast City Hospital and the Macmillan Support & Information Centre, supporting patients undergoing radiotherapy — particularly those experiencing anxiety around the treatment mask.

This work has given me extensive experience supporting people at different stages of the cancer journey — from diagnosis, through treatment, and beyond.

I understand the practical and emotional challenges that can arise, and offer focused, short-term support to help people feel calmer, more in control, and better able to cope with treatment.

Writing & Professional Insight
I have written for Brainz Magazine, sharing insights into how the brain and nervous system influence anxiety, habits, and physical symptoms.

My articles focus on helping people understand why symptoms happen — and how they can change.

Getting Started
If you’re considering hypnotherapy, you’re welcome to book a free introductory/discovery call.

We’ll talk through what’s been happening, what you’d like to change, and how this approach works. You can then decide, in your own time, whether you’d like to go ahead with an Initial Consultation.

There’s no pressure — just a clear, practical starting point.
