About me

Hello I’m Maria, Solution Focused  Clinical Hypnotherapist and Registered Dietitian.

The connection between the brain and gut is both intricate and constant, and hypnotherapy has been proven to help people take control of gut-related conditions effectively.

With over 20 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian—recently specialising in gastroenterology—I’ve expanded my practice to include gut-directed hypnotherapy. This unique combination enables me to address both the physiological and psychological aspects of gut health.

Depression and anxiety, though distinct conditions, are often closely linked to gastrointestinal disorders. In fact, around half of those with IBS also experience insomnia, and poor sleep can worsen symptoms the following day.

My expertise lies in Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction (DGBI), including conditions such as:

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Functional constipation and functional diarrhoea, Functional dyspepsia, Abdominal pain, bloating, and distension, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) during remission, particularly when accompanied by IBS-like symptoms, Other gut-related conditions linked to gut-brain dysregulation.

Combining gut-directed hypnotherapy with my  background in dietetics, I provide personalised care to help individuals restore balance and enhance their quality of life. I also offer support for managing anxiety and stress.
