About me
Clinical Solution Focused Hypnotherapy – Supporting You Through Change
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to visit my profile.
When life feels overwhelming, anxiety takes hold or you find yourself caught in patterns of thinking that are difficult to change, it can be hard to know where to begin. Perhaps you feel constantly on edge, struggle to switch off, or find that stress is affecting your sleep, confidence or everyday life. You may simply feel stuck and want to find a way forward.
As a Clinical Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, I offer a calm, supportive and non-judgemental space where we can work together towards positive change.
How can Solution Focused Hypnotherapy help?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines elements of solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioural approaches and clinical hypnosis. Rather than focusing extensively on past difficulties, we explore what you would like to be different, build on your existing strengths and identify practical steps towards your preferred future.
Sessions also incorporate guided relaxation and hypnosis, which can help you experience a calmer state of mind. We explore how stress, anxiety and our patterns of thinking can influence how we feel and respond to everyday challenges, helping you develop a better understanding of yourself and the changes you would like to make.
You remain in control throughout the process. Hypnosis is not sleep or mind control; it is a naturally occurring state of focused attention and relaxation. You remain aware of what is happening and can choose how you engage with the process.
What I can help with
I work with adults who would like support with difficulties such as:
- Anxiety, worry and stress
- Low mood and emotional overwhelm
- Confidence and self-esteem
- Feeling stuck or struggling to move forward
- Relaxation, sleep and managing everyday pressures
- Emotional wellbeing, body image and our relationship with food
Everyone's experiences are different, so I take time to understand what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. Our work is tailored to you, your circumstances and the changes that matter most to you.
Chronic pain management – a particular area of interest
I have a special interest in supporting people living with persistent or chronic pain, including conditions such as fibromyalgia, endometriosis, chronic migraine and musculoskeletal pain.
Living with ongoing pain can affect so much more than the body. It can influence sleep, mood, relationships, confidence and the freedom to enjoy everyday activities. The uncertainty and emotional strain of living with pain can also contribute to stress and anxiety, sometimes creating a difficult cycle that feels hard to break.
My approach recognises that your pain is real. The aim is not to dismiss your physical symptoms or suggest that pain is simply psychological. Instead, we can explore how stress and emotional responses interact with your experience of pain, and how relaxation, changes in perspective and practical coping strategies may help you manage its impact.
My additional training in the neuroscience of pain and advanced hypnosis techniques has strengthened my interest in this area. I am particularly interested in helping people develop a greater sense of control, improve their emotional wellbeing and find ways to live more fully alongside their physical health challenges.
A little about my approach
Alongside my clinical hypnotherapy training, I am a fully qualified pluralistic counsellor and trained Mindfulness Facilitator. This background informs my understanding of emotional wellbeing and the importance of finding an approach that feels right for each individual.
I believe therapy should be collaborative, respectful and shaped around your needs. There is no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what you want to change or how to achieve it. We can begin where you are, explore what matters to you and work at a pace that feels manageable.
My aim is to help you recognise your strengths, develop helpful ways of responding to life's challenges and move towards the changes you would like to see.
If you are curious about how Clinical Solution Focused Hypnotherapy might help you, I would be very happy to hear from you. We can have an initial conversation to discuss what you are looking for, answer any questions and explore whether working together feels like the right fit.
Supporting you through change and growth.
