About me
Hi I’m Lisa, a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and the founder of Theta Flow Hypnotherapy. I’m based in Chorley, Lancashire, offering both in‑person and online sessions.
I specialise in Gut‑Directed Hypnotherapy, a gentle, evidence‑based approach recognised by NICE and increasingly acknowledged by medical professionals as an effective therapy to complement ongoing IBS treatment plans. This work supports the Gut–Brain Axis, helping clients reduce symptom‑related anxiety, calm digestive discomfort, and rebuild confidence in their body’s ability to settle and regulate.
Alongside this specialist work, I support clients with anxiety, stress, low mood, overthinking, and general emotional wellbeing. My sessions create a calm, supportive space where clients can shift from overwhelm into calmer and more settled rhythm.
Blending neuroscience‑informed techniques with deep relaxation and practical, everyday tools, I help people understand how their mind works and how to work with it rather than against it.
My approach is collaborative, empowering, and tailored to the unique way each person’s brain processes the world. Every session is designed to feel soothing, accessible, and grounded, offering not just relief in the moment but lasting change clients can carry into their daily lives.

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy. In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers. A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members. There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.
The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) was set up to provide information about a modern form of Hypnotherapy and its associated benefits to members of the public. The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

info Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
I specialise in Gut‑Directed Hypnotherapy, an evidence‑based approach recognised by NICE for supporting clients with IBS and other gut-related conditions.

Additional information
As part of making my services more accessible, I offer a free initial consultation. I want everyone to have the opportunity to understand the process, whether it’s a good fit for them, and explore their options in a calm, low‑pressure way, especially when finances are a consideration.
During the initial consultation we’ll spend some time gathering information on what you would like to achieve from the sessions and some further background. We’ll also cover some key points around the neuroscience of how your brain functions in different scenarios.
**I now offer my hypnotherapy sessions as structured packages, making the work more affordable, predictable, and accessible for clients. Each package includes a free initial consultation, a clear session plan, and personalised recordings to support progress between sessions.**
