About me
I'm Jen Hamilton-Emery, a cognitive behavioural hypnotherapist based in Broadland and North Norfolk. I specialise in helping people manage stress and anxiety-related difficulties, from social and health anxiety to problems with confidence and sleep. I work with clients both in person and by video call, combining hypnosis with a range of psychotherapies, including CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and applied relaxation techniques.
My aim isn't just to help clients feel better during the session – it's to give them skills they can keep using long after our sessions end, so they become their own therapist for whatever comes next.
Training, qualifications & experience
I gained a Higher Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy in 2023 from the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy - the leading provider of evidence-based CBT-hypnotherapy training in the UK, and approved by the British Psychological Society.
I’m a Registered Practitioner with the professional body, the General Hypnotherapy Register. I have also undertaken several specialist courses since qualifying, including on insomnia, perfectionism and building resilience.
I am fully covered with professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
I have worked in private practice since qualifying, working with clients with a range of anxiety-related issues, including, anxiety and sleeping problems, weight management and unhelpful habits.
Member organisations
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level. All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
