About me

Hi I'm Jayne and I'm a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist at Woodlands Hypnotherapy based in Mirfield.

I specialise in anxiety, low mood and sleep issues.  Solution Focused Hypnotherapy uses psychotherapy techniques and hypnosis to help you create positive change in your life.  Based on the latest research into neuroscience we use tools and techniques to enable you to achieve fast, long lasting results.

As the name suggests, the therapy is solution focused so although the past is acknowledged and respected, we do not spend time going over painful past memories.  Instead we focus on the present and the future.  In a positive, supportive and relaxed environment you are guided to identify small, manageable steps to help you achieve your goals.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help you to change your perspective and to:

  • Feel less stressed, anxious and worried
  • Sleep better
  • Feel more confident
  • Feel happier, more relaxed, calm and content
  • Be more decisive and take action
  • Reduce exam nerves / interview nerves
  • Increase confidence when public speaking
  • Get rid of habits that no longer serve you
  • Say goodbye to phobias
  • Take back control of your eating
  • Improve your sporting performance
  • Help with managing pain

Email me to book your initial consultation.

If you are unable to attend my therapy room I also offer an online service via Zoom video link.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy School, which is considered to be the gold standard in hypnotherapy and is recognised as the Centre of Excellence for hypnotherapy/psychotherapy training. The training alone involved over 100 hours of 1 to 1 clinical sessions as well as the classroom and home study involved.

I have a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.

I also hold the Hypnotherapy Practitioner's Diploma (which is recognised by many different professional bodies including the National Board for Modern Psychotherapy and the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council.)

I am a member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH), the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

I hold an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate which enables me to work with teenagers and vulnerable adults.

I hold Hypnotherapy Practitioners Insurance underwritten by Oxygen Insurance

I attend regular supervision in accordance to the professional bodies that I am registered with.

I am also committed to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in order to update my skills.  I do this by attending  courses to enable me to offer you the very latest research and information to help you achieve your goals.

Prior to becoming a clinical hypnotherapist I was a school teacher spending over 25 years in education.  This experience has shaped the passion that I have in teaching others and helping them achieve their full potential in an enjoyable way.  I am also a wife and mum to two teenagers so the pressures of family life and the challenges of finding a work life balance are no stranger to me.

I have always been fascinated with the psychology behind how the mind works and Solution Focused Hypnotherapy has enabled me to continue my vocation in helping others become the best possible version of themselves.  I can honestly say, hand on heart, that I love my job and I love creating positive change in my client's lives which is often life changing and always positive.
