About me

Hi, I'm Ian and I work with ordinary people who are suffering physically or mentally.  I help them to resolve their issues to live a more active and fulfilling life.  A Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist based in Widnes, Cheshire. Appointments are available face-to-face in my clinic, where I also work as an advanced level 5 Sports Massage Therapist, or online via Zoom. Initial consultation is free of charge.

Solution-focused therapy is a highly successful, gentle non-invasive therapy, no digging or delving into the past reliving trauma, but strongly focused on moving forward into a brighter future. It is a complimentary therapy that can work alongside other medical or non-medical modalities to get the best outcome for you.

I also offer kinetic shift which involves a more traditional rapid induction type of hypnosis, for those looking for something fast acting.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained with the highly regarded CPHT school for solution focused hypnotherapy and qualified with a diploma in Solution focused hypnotherapy - DSFH and also successfully completed my Hypnotherapy in practice diploma (HPD) alongside this.

More recently I have trained in Kinetic shift hypnosis, which is a more traditional rapid-induction type of therapy.  This was via UK Hypnosis Academy run by world renowned hypnotherapist Karl Smith.

I'm also an advanced level 5 sports massage therapist, tutor and First Aid instructor, teaching First Aid for Therapists amongst other courses.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

I have had success in treating the symptoms of Long Covid and recommend SFH as a way forward for anyone suffering with this, below is an extract from a recent client review on this:

"...A lot of people with this condition have so many battles to fight, from being gaslight by multiple medical professionals, to the medical advice of ‘you wont recover, just learn to adapt’. It's also an invisible illness that can be doubted by so many people.

I think for these and many other reasons, it causes us to overfocus on the symptoms and the impacts as we repeated have to explain and justify our behaviour and I think it’s almost impossible not to rewire thought patterns with negative ones. I believe hypnotherapy has helped me to reverse a lot of and allowed my thought patterns to become more positive. This has given me the belief that I will get better...."
