About me
I am a qualified clinical hypnotherapist. I trained with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis and have a Practitioners Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis. I like to provide a relaxed and safe place for my clients to achieve their full potential, using therapy techniques tailored to their specific needs. Having had hypnotherapy myself I know the amazing impact it can have and enjoy helping others to feel the benefits. We all need help from time to time in regaining control of our lives. I believe we all have the resources within us, needed to live a happy and fulfilling life and hypnotherapy can help us access these resources. All you need is to be motivated and willing to make positive changes to your life and together we can develop those inner resources, therefore, overcoming the issues and challenges you are facing.
How can I help you?
The type of therapy I offer is goal-focused so following a discussion on what you would like to achieve I then help you change any thoughts, feelings or behaviours that are holding you back. These goals will be realistic and with your co-operation, achievable. I will also help provide you with the tools and strategies that can also be used in the future, allowing you to cope with the stresses and strains of modern-day life. Self-hypnosis is one of these skills, something I use myself on a daily basis that I hope my clients will learn to benefit from too.
What to expect during a session
The first and most important part is discussing exactly what it is you want to achieve and then together working out what changes you need to make. A full case history will be taken in order to ensure all areas have been covered. A treatment plan will then be discussed covering desired outcomes, number and frequency of sessions that maybe required. The process of hypnosis will be explained to you and any questions or concerns you have will be addressed. You will have the choice of sitting or lying down while hypnosis is induced. This can be a very pleasant feeling of deep relaxation, a bit like drifting off to sleep. Your conscious mind will also relax allowing your unconscious mind, where all your thoughts, feelings and behaviors are stored, to be more accepting of positive suggestions. These positive suggestions will have been agreed on during the therapy session. Tasks will be set to be completed between sessions.

Testimonials
During the winter of 2017/18 I began to experience some worrying symptoms. Shortness of breath, a feeling that I couldn’t fill my lungs . A racing heart beat. This didn’t happen often but when it did it was quite frightening. My mind would race, and I was convinced something was seriously wrong. My GP was kind, ran the usual checks. Blood pressure etc. I had a chest X-ray as well. Nothing was physically wrong and he offered me a mild anxiety prescription. Once I noticed the symptoms, I struggled to get past them and sometimes spent days struggling to get a lungful of air, to the point where I had a constant pain in my back.
By chance a friend mentioned that she knew a recently qualified Hypnotherapist. And so it was that I met Debbie. We had an initial informal chat, and I checked in again with my practice nurse to ensure no physical problems. I then had 5 sessions of Therapy over 6 weeks. I can honestly tell you it was brilliant.
Debbie assured me that despite what I might have believed, I was completely in control at all times. The sessions were very relaxing. We talked about my life and worries and Debbie used this information to guide the Hypnotherapy. After each session she gave me some breathing exercises and key phrases to repeat whenever I felt anxious or experienced any of my previous symptoms. As the weekly sessions passed I began to regain control of my anxiety.
I have never gone back to feeling as unwell and anxious as I was. I still use the phrases, to reassure myself from time to time but it is hardly necessary.
Debbie is kind, professional explains everything clearly and I wholeheartedly recommend her services .
