About me

Hello, I'm Claire and I am the Clinical Hypnotherapist here at BrightStar Hypnotherapy.

Modern life is hard. It is easy for the stresses and strains of life to get on top of us without us even realising, so we carry on until it feels like we are on a never-ending treadmill that we can’t get off.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Hypnotherapy can help with many different issues from general anxiety, stress and depression, to helping with pain management and overcoming phobias.

With Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, I empower you to take back control of your life, make those positive changes you want to make to get the real you back and to create the future that you want.

What should I expect?

In our first session we will talk about your goals and what you want to achieve. I help you to understand how your mind works to give you greater clarity and awareness over your thoughts and behaviours. This understanding helps you to begin to take back control of your thoughts and get to where you want to be.

Over subsequent sessions we will uses a combination of talking therapies (psychotherapy) and hypnotherapy to help your reduce stress, start focusing on the positives and start making changes towards to future you want.

All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. There will be no 'looking into my eyes' or pocket watch waiving here, just me guiding you into a lovely relaxed trance state. Trance is a perfectly normal and very safe state that we naturally go into ourselves throughout the day when we are concentrating or daydreaming. It is simply a relaxed state of focused concentration where we have access to the conscious and subconscious minds.

There is no need to go back over all old life traumas or for you to feel at all uncomfortable we focus on more positive thoughts and what you want to achieve.

You are in control throughout and you determine your own solutions.

Your first session will involve talking through what you want help with and your goals/expectations, a discussion about how the mind works in relation to your problem and providing you with a relaxation MP3.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at the prestigious Clifton Practice in Bristol, which is widely recognised as a leader in Hypnotherapy Training following a Solution-Focussed approach based on the very latest research in neuroscience.

I have been awarded the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) and Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD) which are considers the gold standard in Hypnotherapy training.

I have also trained with the HypnoBirthing institute and am a certified HypnoBirthing Childbirth Educator.

In addition to my formal qualifications, I complete regular continuing professional development and am a member of the Association for Solution Focussed hypnotherapy and National Council for Hypnotherapy(NCH).

Additional information

  • I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation before starting any sessions. This enables me to understand more about what you would like help with and how I can help you, and is an opportunity for you to get to know me and how I work before you book a session.
  • Standard full sessions are charged at £50 per session
  • I offer a reduced 4 session phobia package for £80.
  • A 2-hour one off stop smoking session is £110.
