About me
** Sessions available online, in person and over the phone**
I work with Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, a relaxing combination of talking therapy and hypnosis. It is a very empowering process that enables you to change the way you think in order to feel better and more in control.
My areas of work include helping people with anxiety and confidence issues, depression, pain management and sleep patterns. For three years I worked within the NHS at the University Hospital of Wales, helping patients (receiving treatment for cancer) with anxiety related issues.
Some of the issues I can help include:
- Anxiety and Panic Attacks
- Phobias
- Low Mood and Lack of Motivation
- Low Self-Esteem
- Low Self-Confidence
- Eating Problems
- Alcohol Abuse
- Quit Smoking
What to expect
The first part of each session consists of talking therapy. In this part of the session we discuss your needs and goals and using solution-focused questions help you to imagine your preferred future, a future where you have a more useful perspective on the quality of your life. This positive psychotherapy work is enhanced by the use of hypnosis.
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation, similar to day dreaming. You remain awake and totally in control at all times. In this pleasantly relaxed state your subconscious mind is more receptive to beneficial suggestions, accepting directions to promote positive change.
Initial Consultation
The initial consultation is one hour in length and gives you the opportunity to find out more about hypnotherapy and how the process works. I will explain how the brain works in relation to whatever issue is bothering you and how hypnotherapy can help you. There is no hypnosis session during this consultation, but it is a very important session giving you information that can be extremely helpful.
I will also give you a free hypnosis CD/download to listen to at home between sessions.
Number of sessions
The number of sessions required is very much individual and varies from person to person. Using Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, change can be achieved effectively and relatively quickly. My goal is to work with you for the shortest time necessary for you to achieve the changes you want to make. As a general guide, the number of sessions may range from 4 for a phobia to 8 -12 for clinical depression.
What people say
Here are some of the things clients have said after a number of sessions:
“I feel like my old self again.”
"I feel calmer and more in control".
"I am enjoying life again and not battling to get by.”
