About me
Hello, my name is Carla Marcos, and as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I help my clients to use their mind to their advantage so that they can find their unique balance and bring more of what they want into their lives.
I practise Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, which is a modern psychotherapeutic approach based on the latest research in neuroscience and the most effective psychotherapeutic techniques so as to achieve long lasting results in a short space of time. One of the main reasons this therapeutic approach is so effective is that it combines psychotherapy and hypnosis (or 'trance'). Whilst in a trance state our minds relax, and can focus on thoughts and suggestions that can be extremely beneficial for us when we are looking to improve our emotional state and make positive changes in our lives.
Alongside my passion for hypnotherapy, I am also a lawyer and a qualified nurse. Being a nurse, my delivery as a hypnotherapist combines my knowledge of how the mind works with a caring and holistic approach that takes into account the interconnection of the body and mind. This taken together with my lawyer's solution-focused approach, drives my enthusiasm to work with my clients to help them achieve their goals so that they can live their best life. I am also a firm believer that improving a person’s emotional state also helps improve the lives of those around them. I absolutely love to see my clients not only finding their unique balance but also becoming an example of positive change for others; their families, friends, co-workers, and ultimately an inspiration for the wider community.
I am based in Harrogate (North Yorkshire, UK) and I offer online hypnotherapy sessions to clients in the UK and globally via Zoom. I am fully insured, supervised, GDPR compliant and registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), DBS checked (enhanced DBS check for working with children and vulnerable adults), and a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH), the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH), and the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
As well as English, I can also speak Spanish, Catalan, and French. And at the moment, I conduct my sessions in either English or Spanish.
I very much look forward to hearing from you and being able to help.
Carla

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members.
There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.
The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) was set up to provide information about a modern form of Hypnotherapy and its associated benefits to members of the public. The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
