About me
I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist with over 20 years experience offering life enhancing therapy sessions to adults and young people with a wide range of symptoms.
Hypnotherapy is a natural, effective way to make transformative adjustments to thoughts, behaviours and emotions. More importantly, it can also help you to access and enhance your own inner strengths and resources, bringing your life back into balance.
We often limit ourselves through our thinking, our conditioning and our fears, but with the support or hypnotherapy you can free yourself from those old stories and begin to live your life in a way that meets your needs more fully and nourishes you more deeply.
I am available to work with most issues but I specialise in fertility and infertility, menopause and terminal illness. I have availability for online and some face to face sessions at the moment. Please feel free to contact me for a friendly chat to find out more.
Over the years, I have worked within the NHS at Glasgow Health Centres and in hospital environments, private clinics, young person's mental health charities and cancer charities, as well as workplaces such as the BBC.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a full member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, I have completed advanced training and work within a strict code of ethics and guidelines. I also update my training annually with continuous professional development.
Other skills and qualifications, which can be brought into therapeutic sessions where appropriate:
- CPCAB Counselling Certificate
- Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprogramming with hypnotherapy (EMDR)
- Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
- Reiki (Master Level)
- Mindfulness Meditation
Fully Accredited Fertile Body therapist
As a Fertile Body Method Therapist, I specialise in supporting people emotionally with their fertility journey, as well as holistically working to enhance their physical fertility. I also support people involved in assisted conception as well as those experiencing infertility.
Cancer Support
I have specialist Cancer Awareness training from both cancer support organisations and the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. I have been the therapist for a Scottish melanoma cancer charity for over 15 years. This includes emotional support for those facing a terminal diagnosis.
Children and Young People
I am also a therapist for Megan's Space, a charity for young people aged 5-25 years, who are struggling with their mental health, especially those at risk of suicide. I have worked as a Childline Counsellor and as a support worker for children and young people in Barnardo's and other charitable organisations for children for many years.
Menopause
I have additional training which qualifies me to fully support those going through the menopause, addressing both physical symptoms and emotional challenges.
Spiritual hypnotherapy and soul searching
I have had an increasing number of clients enquiring about deeper soul searching, exploring life's purpose and meaning and even past life regression. This led me to take further training in spiritual hypnotherapy by therapist and author Roy Hunter through the London College of Clinical Hypnosis.
You will find lots more information on all of these things and more on my website.
Member organisations
The British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH) is a national professional body whose aim is to promote and assure high standards in the practice of hypnotherapy. There are various types of membership of BSCH, including associate members, full members, diplomats and fellows. Registration demands good quality training, ethical practice and adherence to a code of conduct.
Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
info Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
I have many years experience working with those affected by cancer through Gartnavel Hospital, Melanoma Action and Support Scotland (MASScot) and Cancer Support Scotland, as well as clients who come to see me privately. Clients are usually experiencing or recovering from illness or treatment. Hypnotherapy is a great emotional support, building strengths, settling emotions, as well as potentially alleviating side effects of treatment, stress and symptoms of illness.
I work with patients with life limiting illness, family members as well as those who are bereaved. I also support those facing a terminal diagnosis and preparing for end of life.
I use the Fertile Body Method of hypnotherapy to support fertility. The goal is to create the optimum environment for conception. Practical and emotional support is offered through hypnotherapy sessions, to create a fertile body (male and female), I also offer therapeutic support through IVF and ICSI treatments as well as infertility.
