About me

I am a fully qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist offering relaxing, confidential hypnotherapy sessions for a wide range of symptoms. Hypnotherapy is a natural, effective way to make life-changing adjustments to thoughts, behaviours and emotions. It can also help you to access and enhance your own inner strengths and resources, bringing your life back into balance.

I practice from a comfortable therapy room in Glasgow city centre as well as a relaxing space in the seaside town of Largs.

Over the years I have worked within the NHS at Glasgow Health Centres and in hospital environments. With over fourteen years experience in private practice, I have been based in a variety of Clinics as well as at the BBC. I have advanced training in cancer support and I am presently the hypnotherapist for a Scottish cancer charity. I also have specialist fertility training (see more info below and on my website) and due to previous roles working with charities like Childline and Barnardos, I use a gentle form of hypnotherapy with children and young people too.

We often limit ourselves through our thinking, so why not free yourself and release your true potential through hypnosis today?

Training, qualifications & experience

As a full member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, this means that I have completed the advanced training and work with a strict code of ethics and guidelines. I also update my training annually with continuous professional development.

Other training and qualifications, which can be brought into therapeutic sessions where appropriate:

CPCAB Counselling Certificate
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprogramming with hypnotherapy (EMDR)
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Reiki (Master Level)
Mindfulness Meditation Cognitive Therapy
Fully Accredited Fertile Body therapist

I have specialist Cancer Awareness training from Cancer Support Scotland and the London College of Clinical Hypnosis.

As well as working with adults, I see children from about 7 years old. I have worked as a Childline Counsellor and as a support worker for children and young people in Barnardos and other charitable organsiations for children and young people.

As a Fertile Body Therapist, I specialise in holistic support for fertility problems and fertility enhancement with natural and assisted conception.

I also have training and experience with Hypnotherapy in relation to pregnancy and childbirth anxieties.

You will find lots of information on all of these things and more on my website www.alifeinbalance.co.uk.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Nutritional therapy can help enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting nutritional therapy or making any major changes to your diet or lifestyle.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

I have many years experience working with those affected by cancer through Gartnavel Hospital, Melanoma Action and Support Scotland (MASScot) and Cancer Support Scotland, as well as clients who come to see me privately. Clients are usually experiencing or recovering from illness or treatment. Hypnotherapy is a great emotional support, building strengths and emotions, as well as potentially alleviating side effects of treatment or symptoms of illness. Stress relating to a variety of issues, such as hospital appointments, waiting on results, speaking to family members or work colleagues, attending scans, blood tests and so on, can also be effectively reduced by hypnotherapy. I also work with family members who are caring for those with cancer as well as those who are bereaved.

I use the Fertile Body Method of hypnotherapy to support fertility. The goal is to create the optimum environment for conception. Practical and emotional support is offered through hypnotherapy sessions, to create a fertile body (male and female), I also offer therapeutic support through IVF and ICSI treatments as well as infertility.

See my website for lots more information on cancer support, fertility, anxiety, phobias, healthy eating, smoking and many other symptoms and behaviours.
