Practitioner diploma in clinical hypnotherapy
This programme meets the requirements of the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council and Skills for Health at Level 4 and is open to anyone wishing to train to become a clinical hypnotherapist. The course is entirely classroom-based in Leeds. The programme balances practical and theoretical learning.
Learning hours
20 days (10 module weekends), 450 total learning hours, 160 directed learning, 140 non-contact study and 150 in-person teaching.

£1000 special rate for August 2026 intake, only £75 deposit payable to reserve your place, £92.50 balance due for each module.

Content
Prepares participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for registration with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) on passing final exams. Adheres to the standards set by Skills for Health, National Occupational Standards Core Curriculum, and the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council.
Each module is split between theory and hands-on practical, exploring clinical cases in connection with anatomy, physiology, and neurology, equipping learners with ethical and safe approaches for consultations, setting goals, and planning treatment. Participants typically work in pairs to practice various trance induction, deepening, maintenance methods, and therapeutic techniques appropriate for diverse clinical scenarios.
Learners must have liability insurance and a student membership with GHSC; details will be provided during the course.
Assessment
Ongoing formative assessment, learners complete self-assessments and submit assignments, case studies, essays and therapeutic plans. At the end of the programme, a final assessment day includes two written papers and a practical exam.
Outcome
Successful graduates will:
- be awarded the Diploma General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (GQHP)
- be eligible for full registration with the GHR
