This CPD enhances your understanding of perinatal mental health, pregnancy loss, and birth trauma, providing the confidence to support clients facing these complex and sensitive issues.

Mental health during pregnancy and the postnatal period (known as perinatal mental health) is an emotive and complex topic, which is not limited to women. Antenatal anxiety and depression, and other complex mental health issues, can occur spontaneously or as part of previous mental health issues, and the ability to help women during pregnancy will benefit them postnatally and into the rest of their lives and their relationship with their baby.

Helping women with postnatal depression, OCD, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, and PTSD is hugely rewarding, whether it is relatively soon after the birth of their child or many years later. This CPD is delivered in conjunction with Jen’s Working with Women CPD or as a standalone CPD.

During this CPD, you will learn how birth trauma occurs and how pregnancy loss can be handled with care and respect. Providing support for partners is also essential, and during this CPD, we also look at non-birthing partners with postnatal depression and birth trauma PTSD and support them as hypnotherapists.

This CPD aims to enable you to adapt the IC by providing background information on perinatal mental health, guidance on how to support during sessions, and strategies for tailoring your marketing to women and their partners.
