Don't Stress!

How stressed are you?  From major stresses such as financial problems and feeling unable to cope, to everyday pressures including work, family and relationship issues, and demands on time, everyone experiences some stress in their life.  Stress weakens us, and many doctors now believe that it is the main underlying cause of most physical and mental conditions with obvious examples being IBS, high blood pressure, anxiety and sleep problems.

Stress is caused by excess adrenalin in the body.  When we perceive a threat, real or imagined, the body produces adrenalin to enable us to survive the threat; this is known as the ‘fight or flight’ response.  When the adrenalin isn’t used up the body’s systems have to work at a much faster rate, leading to not being able to think straight, tiredness and irritability, poor digestion and increased heart rate.

Relaxation & Meditation techniques allow you to become focused and calm, which creates feel-good hormones that counter balance adrenalin.  Learning effective Relaxation & Meditation techniques will enable you to wind-down easily, think more clearly and enjoy enhanced concentration and memory.  Other benefits include better sleep, improved digestion and a healthier immune system.  With higher energy, a sense of balance and a more positive attitude, you can look forward to a longer and enriched quality of life.
