Supervision details
The supervision is solution focussed supervision, it is my job to support you to be the best you can be for your clients.
It is inevitable that as talking therapists we carry a huge burden, especially when the topics that we are working with are close to our heart, as such my aim of any of our sessions is to hold the space for you to explore your feelings about yourself as much as your clients.
I have counselling and coaching training so can work and understand the theories of several disciplines and understand the blocks that using a multiple of areas in therapy can bring, and with that look at conscious or potentially unconscious biases, the latter understanding develops with the ongoing working relationship as you will know.
Supervision comes in a variety of formats, depending on your need, as a new therapist, we can look at and identify processes and techniques that may be useful and helpful with your ongoing development, we may look at the ethics and boundaries of a therapeutic session etc, this changes with therapists who have a wealth of knowledge and experience as my role will be to hold the space for you to explore your own resources and feelings towards yourself or your client, and maybe I am just there to remind you of a skill that you may have forgotten, easily done after years of working one to one.
My job as your Supervisior is to adapt to what you need to work on as a therapist no matter how experienced we are, we all have doubts and we all can feel burnt out or at a loss at times, great supervision is there to remind us that we are most definitely good enough.
In terms of costing, sessions are an hour (frequency is up to you) and for fairness, I charge per session what you charge your clients per session.
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members. There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
