Hypnotherapy for tinnitus
Clinical Hypnotherapist and Hypnotherapy Directory member Claire Edwards talks about the impact of tinnitus on individuals:
Tinnitus can lead to mental and physical exhaustion, often causing feelings of irritability and frustration. Individuals may struggle to focus on tasks or activities due to the persistent noise, which can manifest as ringing, buzzing, humming, or hissing sounds, typically noticeable during quiet moments.Tinnitus can be influenced by a variety of physical and mental health conditions, as well as environmental factors. The symptoms can be quite distressing, leading to challenges such as anxiety, depression, and difficulties with sleep. As patients struggle to cope with the persistent sounds, these emotional and psychological impacts can create a cycle that further complicates their overall well-being.
How can hypnosis help?
Hypnotherapist Claire Edwards supports clients in managing tinnitus, helping them find relief through hypnosis. While hypnotherapy may not eliminate tinnitus, it can help individuals change their perception of the sounds, making them feel easier to live with. Claire explains more about the potential benefits:
For the past five years, I have been treating patients with tinnitus using hypnosis and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). Many individuals report positive changes in their thoughts and feelings when the noise subsides, leading to greater happiness and confidence. This approach not only helps them read and study peacefully but also alleviates issues such as blushing in public and social phobia associated with tinnitus, significantly enhancing their overall quality of life.
