About me
I understand what my clients are going through as they struggle with anxiety or depression or both. Over a series of sessions, I gradually help my clients return to normal, not by digging into the past, but by looking to the future - a future that they create for themselves, unencumbered by the mental struggles that they are going through when they first see me. This is known as Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.
What To Expect
When you come and see me, you can expect me to listen to you. I will ask questions - sometimes challenging questions and sometimes questions you might not expect. I will also lead you to a comfortable hypnotic trance that will allow your unconscious mind to change to give you a more positive outlook.
I generally see clients for between five and ten sessions before they are ready to carry on without me, although it sometimes takes longer than this and sometimes less.
I see clients in my clinic in Fleet, Hampshire - if they are able to get to me. For other clients, I offer an online service, which is just as effective.
What Problems Do I Help With?
I specialise in clients with anxiety and depression, which can take on many forms, including worry, phobias, performance anxiety, getting over a broken relationship as well as many other issues.
I also help clients who want to quit smoking or vaping, which I do in one long session, together with a follow-up session the following week.
What My Clients Say
My clients describe me as “professional”, “like you were just talking to a friend”, skillful”, “patient” ... and that is my intention. I like to have a laugh with my clients while I guide them to discover a new way, which is unique to them.
Training, qualifications & experience
Qualifications
I studied under the Clifton Hypnotherapy Practice Training school, leading to my diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy in 2020. I went on to achieve my Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (level 4) from the National Council for Hypnotherapy shortly afterwards.
After several years of practice and a further course of study, I achieved my diploma in Solution Focused Supervision for Hypnotherapy (level 5) from the Clifton Hypnotherapy Practice Training school.
Prior to studying hypnotherapy, I studied Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) at practitioner, master practitioner and trainer levels with Pegasus NLP Training. I also studied New Code NLP, obtaining a practitioner qualification from the NLP Academy.
A rather longer time ago (!), I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Bath, and a Master of Science degree from the University of Birmingham.
Professional Organisations
I am a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH), the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) and Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
Continuous Professional Development
These professional bodies require continued professional development. I keep up to date with the ongoing changes in hypnotherapy by attending training courses, workshops, and my ongoing research into mental health issues and the use of hypnotherapy to help.
