About me

I’m Rita, a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist and Dentist with a calm, modern approach to supporting meaningful change. I help adults, young people and children manage stress, anxiety, breaking unwanted habits, phobias, boost confidence in a safe, structured and compassionate way.

My aim is simple: to give you practical tools that help you feel better and stay better without becoming dependent on long-term therapy. I focus on building your skills, confidence and self-trust so you can continue progressing long after our sessions end.

I work with evidence-based methods drawn from cognitive behavioural therapy, hypnotherapy, meditation and mindfulness. Everything I use is grounded in well-established, peer-reviewed approaches recommended by respected organisations such as the British Psychological Society and the British Medical Association.

Together, we’ll create a clear, personalised treatment plan that reflects who you are, what you need, and the pace that feels right for you. You can expect a warm, non-judgemental space, structured guidance, and strategies you can apply in everyday life: at work, at school, or at home.

Originally from Portugal, I offer sessions in English and Portuguese, both online and in person.

I am registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) and abide by its Code of Ethics. I also attend regular clinical supervision and peer-support groups to ensure my practice remains effective, safe and up to date.

If you’re ready to understand your mind, break unhelpful patterns and grow your confidence, I’m here to support you.

Training, qualifications & experience

Rita Pais, HDip CBH, LMD UC

I divide my time between dentistry in Windsor and Marlow and my hypnotherapy practice, bringing over 20 years of clinical experience, to create a calm, supportive environment where people feel safe, listened to, and respected.

I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (UK College of Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy) and integrate evidence-based methods from CBT, hypnotherapy, and mindfulness. I have also completed additional training in working with children and young people, ensuring a safe, structured, and supportive approach.

I continue to expand my skills through ongoing professional development, so my clients receive the most effective, up-to-date care.

Whether I am working as a dentist or hypnotherapist, my goal is the same: to help people feel better, healthier, and more confident in themselves.

Member organisations

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level. All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
