About me

About me and the way I work:
I am an experienced therapist working from my private practice in Leicester. I draw on my knowledge of several different therapeutic disciplines, of which hypnotherapy plays a major part, to blend a unique approach for each individual.  Through working together I help them to move towards what they wish to achieve; gaining greater understanding of themselves and what has been holding them back.

Prior to starting any therapy work I like to have a brief chat with new clients, either over the phone, or in person, just to find out what they are looking for in therapy. I will then make some suggestions as to how I think their particular issue can be approached and together, we create a positive way forward.
Experience has taught me that for many clients a session of EFT (emotional Freedom Technique) is a powerful way to begin, as it helps to create greater clarity of the problem. Clients also learn a new tool that they can use to help themselves; a powerful tool that they will always have access to. This can then be followed by a more targeted session of hypnotherapy that really gets to the root of any issues, putting new, positive ideas in place. Some clients, however are very clear about their issues and where they have arisen from and so hypnotherapy on its own is the best way forward for them. Whatever the issue, the benefit of having a range of different therapies that I can effectively work with is that, each time I work with a client, I offer an individual fit for what they need rather than trying to fit them into the therapy

Training, qualifications & experience

Hypnotherapy Training:
I achieved my Practitioners Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy several years ago, through Mindworks in Nottingham, and have used my skills to successfully help clients in managing a wide variety of personal difficulties including anxiety, lack of confidence, irrational fears, inability to relax and travel sickness to name a few. Much of my work is with people struggling under the weight of childhood issues and neglectful parenting, including serious abuse.

Other Relevant Qualifications:
Master Practitioner Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

Practitioner Diploma in Parks Inner Child Therapy (PICT)

Registered Practitioner in Bach Flower Remedies

EMDR Training

Diploma in Person Centred Counselling

I am a qualified Further Education Teacher with comprehensive experience of teaching Life and Employment Skills to Adults with Learning Difficulties, predominantly Autism. I combine my skills as a teacher and therapist to educate adults experiencing mental health issues in confidence building skills, and to deliver workshops and training to other service providers.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a hypnotherapist's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the hypnotherapist to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
