About me
Are you struggling with anxiety (including severe anxiety, GAD and social anxiety), stress, insomnia, panic attacks, low esteem, a phobia, asserting yourself, or something else that's blocking your potential or your peace of mind?
I use the Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy approach, an evidence-based method, to work with you to understand what's really going on and help you to make the changes you need to break through your problems.
It's helpful if we can identify a particular situation/s where you have a problem so we can create a clear goal and plan for how to get there. Often a problem is so ingrained that we are accustomed to it and don't realise the extent it affects our life.
Facing one issue with the right support can give you the tools and confidence to continue breaking down other blocks to become more free and fulfilled. My clients have told me I have a kind manner that puts them at ease and helps them feel safe throughout the process, they've also been amazed by the results.

Member organisations
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level. All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
info Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Fees
£75.00 per session
Free initial telephone session
Additional information
I offer a free, no-obligation phone call (approx. 20 mins) so you can tell me about your problem, I can tell you how I would help you and we can decide if we'd work well together.
I charge £75 for each session. Sessions are 1 hour. Between 6 and 10 sessions is usual but it can be more or less depending on the person and their issue.
If you would like face-to-face sessions, I now see clients at the Dawn Lister Centre, Leigh-on-sea. It's a lovely place with comfortable therapy rooms.
In my opinion, online and face-to-face sessions both work well, it's up to you what you prefer.

Reviews from some of the people I have worked with:
Since working with Monica I feel I have the tools I need to help myself. She took the time to find methods that best suited me and I could implement into my daily life. Since doing so I’ve been much more clearer of mind which I don’t believe is a coincidence! She has very positively influenced my life and for that I am very grateful and definitely recommend to anyone seeking her help. (Male, 26, Chronic Pain)
I am very grateful to Monica for helping me manage a spider phobia. Prior to this I would avoid situations like going into the garden shed, or even looking at pictures of spiders. The sessions involved hypnotherapy and exposure therapy and Monica also taught me self-hypnosis and relaxation techniques that I could use at home. As well as having a kind and caring manner which put me at my ease, she was very skilled in adapting each session according to what I could emotionally deal with at each stage, and this enabled me to engage positively and feel safe throughout the whole process. (Female, 55, Spider Phobia)
I came to Monica for help with making progress in my tennis playing. I have had tennis coaching for 6 years and felt strong when I was practicing but when it came to matches I felt the opposite and sometimes wished the match was cancelled. I couldn't understand because I loved tennis and challenge. It was nice to unload what was going on in my head. I learned how to answer back to unhelpful comments from my inner voice. I was very surprised how hypnotherapy had such a huge effect even though I wasn't 100% sure it could work. After one hypnosis, I heard in my head "I'm free from all the nonsense" while playing tennis. I found it interesting that Monica never played tennis but when I listened to her hypnotherapy recording before each match, it felt like she knew how to play. I would like to encourage everyone to find help, even if it's something small, as everyone deserves to live without self criticism which we are maybe not even aware of.
