About me

My name is Lucinda Taylor and I offer a personalised approach to improving your life using up-to-date, effective techniques in both hypnotherapy and NLP.

Hypnotherapy can be very effective for many conditions, and I enjoy seeing the full range of clients, though I do have a particular interest in using hypnotherapy to help people remain calm, whether that is in the face of a phobia, a more one-off event such as childbirth or a job interview, or longer term stress.  I also have specialist training in helping clients to stop smoking or lose weight. I have recently achieved a Distinction in a Diploma in Nutrition which will further inform my weight loss hypnotherapy.

I have a BA Hons dual honours degree in Law and Sociology, and the analytical skills I gained from this help me to unpick the problems clients bring to me and find the best approach to solving them - as with anything in life one size definitely does not fit all, and I understand how important it is to find the correct approach for each individual. My degree also left me with a love of my alma mater, so I offer 10% discount to Keele University students or staff with a valid Keele Card.

As well as professional experience with children I have two children of my own, and I enjoy using my experience and knowledge in this area with my hypnotherapy skills. Early interventions can really make a difference, and children generally take to hypnotherapy very well, having the vision and imagination to achieve their goals when shown how.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Practitioner Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and a Diploma in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, with specialisms in Smoking Cessation and Weight Management.  A Diploma in Nutrition (Distinction grade, 91%) further informs the weight management hypnotherapy I offer.

I am a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register, adhering to their Code of Ethics as well as their requirements for continuing professional development.

GHR

The General Hypnotherapy Register

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Fees

I charge £60 per session for hypnotherapy and NLP, with discounts available for block booking. Sessions last approximately an hour, though the initial session can last up to an hour and a half to allow me to take full details.

Stop Smoking therapies incur separate charges - a one-off 2 hour session costs £175.

Keele University staff or students are eligible for a 10% discount with a valid Keele card.
