About me

Previously to hypnotherapy I trained as an actor, so I completely get the anxiety around exam nerves or having to speak at meetings! Those feelings and thoughts of being looked at, or judged. The physical reactions such as shaking, blushing or ones voice rushing over the words I remember those too well!   I learnt how to access a calm space in my mind to help with this.

I studied touch therapy and worked with people who had physical disabilities and learning disabilities. I realised that deep relaxation helps not just with  pain relief, but also allows the mind to relax enough to access the parts that are emotionally triggered. (Unwanted habits, anxiety, self esteem).  Then to use hypnotherapy suggestions and interventions to shift these). In a  relaxed state of hypnotherapy you are  open to possibilities.

Take pain for instance, pain is like a car alarm that keeps going off, and it can be helpful to deeply relax the body and mind so the pain alarm doesn't go off so often, or we can learn to manage it, maybe turn it down or tune out  so that the pain isn't the main focus.

Our wonderful minds remember how to access the deep relaxation through hypnotherapy.

My Hypnotherapy diploma gave me the opportunity to facilitate wellbeing workshops at Folkestone Mind and Touchbase Care. I would use the visualisation of hypnotherapy and NLP techniques and utilise these with groups of six to eight clients.

I had a client at Mind who saw me as a one to one client and she had not been to the dentist for fifteen years, but  after a few sessions she successfully had her tooth extracted!

I have face to face  sessions available at Physios R Us in  Folkestone/ and at my office in Hythe as well as online.

How it works

Hypnotherapy is a very relaxed yet focused state. Imagine using mindfulness and focusing on the details in the moment like cleaning your teeth, focusing on all the details of the texture of the toothbrush, the pressure and the feeling of the bristles.  Is the minty paste cool on your gums? Or have you picked a different flavour toothpaste? This relaxed focus as you recount the memory of cleaning your teeth is similar to what I use with my client. I start by asking you your most favourite place to relax and I will build this into your personalised script using all the senses.  This is a relaxed focused state. So you see you will not be asleep or unconscious, but relaxed enough to allow yourself  to be open to the  suggestions.

I offer face to face or online sessions.   The face to face sessions are at my office at Physio's R Us in Folkestone.

I make sure the sessions are very calm, very positive, completely confidential. Your weren't born with this habit, this unwanted belief. So its within your power to unlearn it and release it.
