Joe Forshaw BA Psych (Hons), PG Cert, DSFH, MAfSFH (REG), MCHNC (REG), HNC REG
Hi, my name is Joe Forshaw, I am a Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist.
Online Solution Focused Hypnotherapy uses techniques that employ the latest neuro-scientific research and Hypnosis in the form of guided relaxation. This typically produces fast, effective long-lasting results. I have been offering online sessions pre-Pandemic and the research supports the fact that they are as effective as face-to-face therapy sessions. These sessions are also far more convenient as there is no need to travel and can be held from the comfort of your own home.
Life can always be stressful, but the events of 2020 have seen an enormous increase in the number of people experiencing Stress and Anxiety. The many problems and issues that can result from Stress and Anxiety can have a disruptive and sometimes devastating effect on our lives.
Using Solution Focused Hypnotherapy I can help with issues such as Depression, Addictions, Confidence, Self-Esteem, OCD, Phobias, Sleep and many more.
Anxiety can also exacerbate certain physical conditions including IBS and Chronic Pain. Reducing anxiety can help people cope with pain and reduce the symptoms of IBS.
Many therapies can be described as 'Problem Focused'. This means that they focus on the past and the issues brought you to therapy, their focus is on the problem. However, as the name suggests, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy looks to the present and the future rather than the past. You will be encouraged to identify positive solutions, to focus on your future goals and what you would like to achieve. The sessions are designed to be positive and clients report that they find them very relaxing and enjoyable.
The vital start to the process is the initial consultation, this gives the client the time to explore the benefits of the therapy and gives me the chance to explain how I can help. The sessions are conducted professionally, confidentially and in a relaxed environment. A relaxation down load is given at this stage and that helps with confidence and aids in restoring a regular sleeping pattern. It is important the client listens to this each night between sessions to cement the therapeutic work.
