About me

As a former nurse I have a profound interest in my clients' physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health and my aim is to assist you in achieving the change you desire, enhancing your health and/or your general well-being. I do this by helping you to reduce stress and anxiety, increase confidence and self-esteem, or remove phobias, habits or addictions. I am committed to providing caring and effective therapy which will empower you to leave aspects of your life that are holding you back, behind you.

Clinical Hypnosis is a lovely experience. It helps your conscious mind become deeply relaxed so that your unconscious mind can accept pre-agreed, positive suggestions to bring about the required change. It is in no way used to control you or make you do things you would not be comfortable with and it is only used for therapeutic purposes. Although it works with your mind, its effects are felt in many physical ways too, making it effective either as a stand-alone treatment, or to complement conventional medical treatments. My experience as a Registered Nurse has also given me a good understanding of the effects, in particular of stress, on the outcome of many physical conditions.

I work from home in Kenilworth, but see clients from the rest of Warwickshire, Coventry and elsewhere in the West Midlands. I have a comfortable, ground floor therapy room, which allows me to give individualised therapy in a sensitive, professional and confidential way. There is ample parking available.

Further information

How Hypnotherapy can help you:

Clinical Hypnotherapy is a way of allowing your conscious mind to become so deeply relaxed that your unconscious mind is able to accept pre-agreed, therapeutic suggestions. This can bring about a lasting change in your perception of a situation, or in an unwanted behaviour. This deeply relaxed state is also called the trance state. It resembles sleep, but is different in that you can actually be very alert during hypnosis and you will maintain control throughout the treatment. The aim is to teach you to use your mind and thoughts to manage physical or emotional difficulties, or to change a habit or behaviour that is causing a problem. My Nursing background has given me a good understanding of the clinical nature of Hypnotherapy which addresses aspects of a person’s health – physical, mental or emotional – in a safe, calm and therapeutic way.

What to expect on your first session:

This will normally last for 90 minutes and includes a consultation and a chance to have any questions or concerns addressed, at no extra cost. I will then guide you to relax your mind and body deeply so that you receive the maximum benefit from the session. I record the hypnosis, with your permission, for you to listen to at home. This greatly increases the effectiveness of the treatments. Following the session you will be alert and refreshed and fully able to continue your day.

How many sessions are you likely to need?:

This is planned on an individual basis and you will be totally involved in the plan.  Many treatments will need 2 - 3 sessions. Your progress will be discussed with you during each session.
