About me

I work with people who are struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, overthinking, self-doubt and the effects of difficult or traumatic experiences.

Many of the people who come to me have already tried other approaches. They may understand why they think, feel or react the way they do, but still find themselves stuck in the same patterns, unable to make the changes they want.

My approach combines hypnotherapy and EMDR with conversational, subconscious-focused work. Rather than simply helping you understand what's going on, we'll work with the thoughts, feelings and emotional responses that are keeping the problem going, so they can begin to loosen their hold, helping you feel lighter, calmer and more like yourself again.

Sessions are tailored to you rather than following a set programme. My aim is to help you make sense of what's happening without judgement, work through what's keeping you stuck and and make changes that previously felt difficult or impossible.

I work both face-to-face and online.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified and insured Clinical and Analytical Hypnotherapist, with a Diploma in Hypnotherapy from the Devon School of Hypnotherapy and a Diploma in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) incorporating Hypnosis from the John Dewar School of Hypnotherapy.

I am registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) and General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC), and undertake regular supervision and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

I have also undertaken specialist training in trauma with MindBody Breakthrough.

I have extensive experience working therapeutically with clients, particularly in areas including anxiety, panic attacks, trauma and PTSD, negative thinking, self-doubt and the emotional effects of difficult past experiences.

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level. All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Overthinking, negative thinking, self-doubt, people-pleasing & imposter syndrome
