About me
As a Cognitive Hypnotherapist with over a decade of experience, I use a range of proven therapeutic techniques to clearly identify and target the root causes of your issues. My work ranges from helping clients navigating anxiety, low self esteem or perhaps a challenging relationship, to those stuck in a cycle of trauma related symptoms and PTSD. I understand the unrelenting nature of these problems and how debilitating they can be in your day to day life.
While I work regularly with clients dealing with all kinds of trauma both historic and recent, I am also highly experienced working in the sensitive area of sexual trauma. I have supported victims through police investigations into sexual assault charges and the subsequent court process for trial. I am currently training to become a professionally qualified ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) and will be one of only a few practising therapists in the UK who are dual qualified.
Techniques
I use proven therapeutic techniques including Neuro Linguistic programming (NLP), Eye Movement Integration techniques (EMI/IEMT), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT or Tapping) and Time Line Therapy as well as Cognitive Hypnotherapy.
Published Articles, Media and Awards
I have published numerous works exploring anxiety and trauma and have featured frequently on BBC Radio. I have written for The Hypnotherapy Journal, one of the most widely read and respected hypnotherapy publications in the UK. In 2015 I was awarded for my extensive work with Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Apprentice Programme.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at the Quest Institute, London under Trevor Silvester, the founder of Cognitive Hypnotherapy. I achieved a Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma in 2011 and qualified as a Master Practitioner in Cognitive Hypnotherapy in 2013.
In addition, I am a certified Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner in both Classic Code as well as New Code. I trained in New Code NLP with John Grinder, one of the original co-founders of NLP.
I am also professionally qualified in multiple eye movement pattern techniques including EMI (Eye Movement Integration) and IEMT (Integrated Eye Movement Therapy).
Strict Code of Conduct
As a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy, I abide by their strict code of conduct and Ethics of Good Practice and their public protection policies. I am fully professionally insured.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

CLIENT REVIEWS
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
'My life changed quite considerably after I met Fiona. I had experienced some devastating things in my youth and how I felt about these things continued to affect what I was doing in my adult life. At times this wasn’t helpful and I felt held back and not quite myself. Fiona is incredibly warm and reassuring at the same time as professional, this made me feel safe to explore the things from my past. She seamlessly guided me through different techniques and processes that have left me feeling relieved, hugely optimistic and excited about my future. I cant thank Fiona enough.'

'I am so relieved that I found Fi as I had suffered for the last 14 years with PTSD. In just a few sessions everything changed so much and I now think of those past events in a completely different way, I still know they happened but I don't get the emotional response about them now. The help and support Fiona gave me was fantastic. Whilst seeing her I found her calm and knowledgeable approach really gave me confidence that she could help me. Life feels much freer now and I'm really enjoying life and looking forward to what lies ahead.'

Anxiety
'I have been a life-long sufferer of General Anxiety Disorder and Emetephobia. I had to get help, I had to take control, get my life back and finally find how to manage my challenges. Having read Fiona’s website, she was the person I called on. Her understanding of my conditions and challenges immediately confirmed I had made the right decision. 3 sessions later I had my life. The therapy was straight-forward, all of it positive and calming. There were some tears along the way of course but after hurting for as long as I can remember, tears were always going to happen. Over those 3 sessions, Fiona identified the “pinch points” in my life that triggered the anxieties. After nearly 30 years of trauma and living in a constant state of anxiety, I finally had a life that was my own to live and enjoy. Having a live is a simple I know but for me, its blessing I am so grateful for. My life the way it is now wouldn’t be possible without Fiona. She may never know or acknowledge it, but I was one life saved.

'I would have no hesitation in recommending Fiona. She combines a friendly, personable and understanding approach with a high degree of professionalism. She is diligent and thoughtful, highly skilled and a pleasure to spend time with.'
