About me

My name is Eleanor Gladwyn. In 2017 I discovered the transformation that hypnotherapy can have when I took the plunge and used it to conquer a life long battle with my weight and my relationship with food. The 'Hypno Re-Shape' programme by David Finch was definitely a life changing experience and I can honestly say that it did indeed re-shape my mind and my body.

I was so impressed by the way it helped me that I trained to become a hypnotherapist myself so that I can help others to take back control and make changes in their lives too.

I use a combination of coaching, NLP techniques and hypnotherapy to help my clients to achieve their goals. I deal with a wide range of issues. The possibilities are endless but here are a few of the most common ones …….

Anxiety/Stress - panic attacks, reduce levels of anxiety and stress, exam or driving test nerves, OCD, social anxiety

Confidence - confidence building, improve self confidence and reach your potential

Addictions - quit smoking, food addictions , gambling addiction

Weight Management - weight loss, Virtual Gastric Band, eating habits

Fears and Phobias - including fear of flying, heights, spiders, snakes, dogs, dentists, agoraphobia, claustrophobia and lots more!

Pain Management - long term chronic pain, IBS, dental work or having a tattoo

I'm based at my therapy room at Inner Belief in Newport, South Wales but I am happy to make house visits in some circumstances.

I offer a free initial consultation and taster sessions for £20 for those who would like to 'try before they buy'! Get in touch to book your free initial consultation by calling me on 07837 931201 or visiting my website www.eleanorgladwyn.co.uk

Training, qualifications & experience

Since qualifying as a Clinical Hypnotherapist I have undertaken several courses to boost my continuing self development.

In addition to offering therapy for pain management, stop smoking/vaping, anxiety, stress, confidence building, fears and phobias, addictions and the like I also offer weight management programs including @Hypno Re-Shape'.

'Hypno Re-Shape' is the weight management program that inspired me to become a hypnotherapist so I am very passionate about it!

I am passionate about helping you to take control of your eating habits and to restore a good relationship with food. You will discover tools to help you change the way you think about and behave around food and enjoy the freedom that comes with this by tapping into the power of your wonderful subconscious mind. You can achieve those long-held goals and be released from the trap you feel you’re in!
I offer a tailor-made program to suit your needs. This may be our very comprehensive 12-week Hypno-Reshape program but could also be a shorter 4-weeks or 6-weeks program, all designed with you in mind.
All packages of 4 or more weeks include a MP3 player with reinforcement sessions for each week of your program.

I am a member of the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council.

I am also a Master Practioner of NLP.

Further information

I'd like to share a few thoughts on what hypnotherapy is and isn’t.
Hypnotherapy still holds a certain amount of mystery and skepticism for lots of people. I’m sure lots of people think it’s all a bit weird and scary. There are lots of misconceptions about what it is and isn’t and what will happen if you dare to enter the hypnotherapist’s room.
A couple of years ago I tried hypnotherapy for the first time after lots of wondering and pondering about who I should contact and whether it could help me and what would actually happen in that room. So, I know how that feels!
So, let’s do some myth busting. Firstly, let’s look at what hypnosis and hypnotherapy IS. Hypnosis is a perfectly natural state and one that we all experience several times every day. When we’re engrossed in something and our mind wanders, that’s hypnosis! When you’re driving and get to your destination and can’t remember going around that big roundabout that’s hypnosis!
Hypnotherapy is hypnosis with therapy. So, whilst you’re in hypnosis the hypnotherapist will give you some therapeutic suggestions to resolve whatever issue you have come to see them for. It’s about you taking control using the power of your subconscious mind to make changes to the way you think and behave. It’s a tool for healing and self-improvement, an alternative therapy for a wide range of health conditions. It can be used to overcome habits and thought patterns, performance anxiety and phobias, including weight control, pain management and smoking cessation, motivation, relaxation, stress management, personal achievement and lots, lots more.

Secondly, let’s look at what hypnotherapy is NOT. Hypnotherapy is not magic! No one can be made to do something under hypnosis that they don’t want to do, not even on the stage for entertainment purposes! You will not get ‘stuck’ in hypnosis – you are always in control and can choose to open your eyes and ‘wake’ yourself whenever you want to (you probably won’t want to though – in my experience no-one ever wants to ‘wake up’!). Some people worry that they may not be able to be hypnotised. Well, everyone can be hypnotised but not everyone wants to be and that’s the key – you have to allow yourself to go into hypnosis.

Lastly, what happens in a session? Well, you should expect to have a nice relaxed chat with your hypnotherapist about what it is you’d like to tackle. You’ll be asked a few questions so that they can work out how they can help you best. You should feel at ease with your hypnotherapist and feel that you can trust them. This is a partnership and you will be working together to get to your goal. Think of the hypnotherapist as the navigator and of yourself as the driver. You know where you want to go (even if you only have a rough idea of where that is to start with), and they will give you the directions to get you there.
So, after the chat come the best bit - the hypnosis! This is where you get to relax comfortably and start making all the changes you want to make. Once the hypnotherapist has guided you into hypnosis (remember, you’re in the driving seat and they’re navigating) they will do the therapy with you. They will most likely ask you to imagine or visualise something to help you start to make those changes you want. They will help you to use the power of your subconscious mind to change to the way you think which is what helps to change the things you do and gives you the results you’re after. They will ‘wake’ you, make sure that you’re re-orientated and send you on your way to start your journey of change.

If you’re ready to take back control and start making changes or are just curious to see what hypnosis feels like and would like a taster session, get in touch to book your session.
