About me
I bring a unique blend of clinical experience and therapeutic insight to my work, shaped by nearly 30 years in the NHS and over 16 years as a Clinical Hypnotherapist.
My professional background began as an Occupational Therapist, and during my NHS career I have worked across a wide range of services, including specialised amputation services, wellbeing services, and, more recently, cancer services, where I continue to work part-time.
Alongside my NHS role, hypnotherapy has become a central part of my practice. Over the years, I have seen first-hand the positive and often life-changing impact hypnotherapy can have. I am deeply passionate about helping people feel calmer, more confident, and more in control of their thoughts, emotions, and physical responses.
I firmly believe that what we think has a powerful influence on how we feel. The mind and body are intrinsically linked, each continually affecting the other. Anxiety, stress, and overwhelm often arise when this connection becomes unbalanced. My work focuses on helping clients understand this link and gently guiding them to shift unhelpful thought patterns into more supportive, balanced ones. When this happens, the results can be truly transformative.
By combining hypnotherapy with my occupational therapy skills, I am able to offer a completely individual and holistic approach. No two clients are the same, and each session is tailored carefully to the person in front of me, their experiences, and their goals.
I am also a strong believer in empowering clients beyond the therapy room. It is not just about the session itself. After each appointment, I provide practical techniques and coping strategies that clients can use at home. I often refer to these as tools for the mental toolbox. Recently I have been creating personalised audio sessions for my clients following their appointments. All of these tools are evidence-based, and many are techniques I use myself, so I know how effective they can be in everyday life.
My aim is to support my clients to self manage rather than feeling dependent on therapy.
Regaining a sense of control is a crucial part of reducing anxiety. For many clients, simply knowing they have reliable tools they can use at any time brings immediate reassurance - and that reassurance alone can significantly ease anxiety.
At the heart of my work is a genuine belief in each person’s capacity for change. With the right support, understanding, and tools, it is entirely possible to feel calmer, more resilient, and more confident in managing life’s challenges.
I offer a safe, comfortable space in a beautiful, airy clinic room with views over a huge garden. Confidentiality is assured.
I am offering virtual sessions through Zoom from April 2026 for those people who can't physically attend appointments.

Member organisations
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level. All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members. There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.
