What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a combination of hypnosis and therapy, with counselling techniques to allow you to reach your goal. It is a wonderful way to relax the whole body and mind. This is done simply by actively listening to my voice. When you reach a state of relaxation, your powerful subconscious mind will take in the positive suggestions and coping mechanisms so that change will take place and this will help you achieve your goal.

In general, hypnotherapy can be used to help people reach a more beneficial emotional balance resulting in better overall health and well-being.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is the process of inducing a trance. A trance is a very relaxed, daydream-like state and most people experience trances quite naturally in their everyday life. For example, whilst driving a car or day-dreaming whilst carrying out a repetitive action.

You do not lose consciousness all together but you will be in such a relaxed state, that your subconscious mind will take over.

The brilliance of our mind, is such that it is always protecting us and will never let us do something we don’t want to do, we simply reject the suggestions if we do not agree with them.

You are in complete control and can come out of hypnosis at any point during the session if you wish. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis and by teaching you ways to achieve this you will empower yourself to take control.

With the right support you can achieve anything!

How hypnotherapy can help you?

When you’re ready for change, hypnotherapy is a safe and powerful psychotherapeutic tool which can help with a wide range of issues including:

  • Anxiety (including panic attacks)
  • Bereavement and Loss
  • Depression
  • Fears and Phobias
  • Hypno-Gastric Band
  • Improve Confidence
  • Improve Self-Esteem
  • Job- Performance
  • Relationships
  • Stop Smoking
  • Weight Loss

What can I expect at my first Hypnotherapy Session?

The first session of hypnotherapy gives the client an opportunity to discuss with the hypnotherapist in confidence the issues they would like help with. It is also a good opportunity for the client to ask any questions about hypnotherapy.

The hypnotherapist invites the client to be made comfortable, then will be asked to complete a short questionnaire about general health, lifestyles and previous medical history, to make sure they are suitable for hypnosis. If the client then decides to go ahead, the initial session would include a full assessment and therapy.

The hypnotherapist will have a chance to build a rapport with the client, then work in partnership with them to decide on the desired changes or goals. The hypnotherapist decides the skills required to go ahead with therapy, arranges the signing of contract to include the cost per session and the possible number of sessions required.

The hypnotherapist will help get the client into a relaxed state using “the induction of hypnosis”. The client is encouraged to relax by closing their eyes and to concentrate on their breathing by letting the body and mind fall into a deep state of relaxation, whilst listening to the words and suggestions from the hypnotherapist.
After this first session, the hypnotherapist would be able to advise the client on the number of sessions, they might need to make the changes.

There can be a brighter side of life!
