About me

Feel calmer, more confident, and ready to speak up when it matters most… even when all eyes are on you.

Hi, I’m Annette, a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist and confidence specialist based in Lymm, Cheshire, helping people overcome anxiety, fears, phobias and self-doubt.

I specialise in confidence for public speaking, presentations, interviews and social situations, supporting you to feel calm, in control and able to perform at your best under pressure.

I’m also a published author, Associate Lecturer and former multi-award-winning TV Executive Producer with the BBC.

Why work with me?
Because I bring something a little different.

Before retraining as a hypnotherapist, I spent 38 years working at the highest level in television. As a multi-award-winning Executive Producer, I worked in live TV, guiding celebrities, presenters, royalty and contributors through high-pressure, high-stakes situations.

I’ve seen first-hand what confidence really looks like behind the scenes and how fear shows up, even in the most experienced performers.

And here’s what I know for certain:
Confidence isn’t something you’re born with. It is something you can learn.

Now, I combine that real-world experience with evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy to help my clients create lasting change, whether that’s overcoming a long-standing phobia or finally feeling confident enough to use their voice.

I’m also the author of Step Into Your Spotlight: The TV insider’s guide to feeling confident when all eyes are on You!, where I share practical tools and behind-the-scenes insights into how confidence really works.

How I can help
I support clients with:

  • Confidence for speaking, presenting and being seen
  • Fear of public speaking and performance anxiety
  • Social anxiety and fear of judgement
  • Specific fears and phobias
  • Interview nerves and high-pressure situations
  • Overthinking, self-doubt and imposter feelings

My approach is practical, supportive and tailored to you

No scripts. No one-size-fits-all solutions.  Just proven techniques, personalised sessions, and a safe space to make real progress.

What to expect
I offer 1:1 hypnotherapy sessions, both in person and online.

Clients often tell me they feel calmer, clearer and more in control after just a few sessions, with tools they can continue to use long after we’ve finished working together.

I work with warmth, honesty, and just the right amount of gentle challenge to help you move forward.

Because staying stuck isn’t the goal.

Ready to take the next step?
You only have one life.  Let’s not spend it holding back.

Let me help you feel calmer, more confident, and ready for whatever comes next.

Relax. Reset. Go.

Training, qualifications & experience

After a 38-year career as a multi-award-winning TV Executive Producer with the BBC, I retrained as a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist. While it may sound like a career change, it was a natural progression.

Throughout my television career, I worked behind the scenes helping people perform at their best under pressure. From Hollywood A-listers and members of The Royal Family to first-time presenters and everyday contributors, I supported people navigating nerves, self-doubt and high-stakes situations.

That experience now underpins my work as a hypnotherapist.

I understand how confidence works in the real world, not just in theory, and how fear can show up even in the most capable individuals.

I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy from the UK College of Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy, one of the UK’s leading training providers. I am also a registered member of the General Hypnotherapy Register and adhere to their Code of Ethics.

My approach combines evidence-based hypnotherapy with practical, real-world insight. My work is grounded in evidence-based practice and focused on creating measurable, lasting change.

I work collaboratively with each client to create tailored sessions aligned to their goals, whether that’s overcoming a specific phobia, preparing for an interview, or building confidence in high-pressure situations.

I draw on a range of proven techniques, including hypnosis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), relaxation, mindfulness and behavioural strategies, to help you change unhelpful patterns and move forward with confidence.

Clients often value the balance I bring of structure, empathy and straight-talking support. You’ll gain practical tools, honest encouragement and a safe, supportive space to create meaningful, lasting change.

Some client reviews:

SP says: I used to feel nervous for weeks before presenting at conferences—dreading the build-up and feeling overwhelmed by anxiety. But after working with Annette, everything changed. For the first time ever, I wasn’t shaking. Sure, I felt a little nervous, but it was manageable—not overwhelming. I even managed to inject some humour into my talk and answer questions at the end! The shift was so noticeable that people who had seen me speak before commented on the change.  If you struggle with presentation anxiety, I can’t recommend Annette highly enough!

VN says: What I found reassuring was that Annette explained at every stage why she was asking certain questions and what was going to happen. This was very comforting and made me feel at once in a trusted space. There was never any stress or feeling I had to do or feel a certain way during the sessions but that they evolved naturally. I also appreciated the warmth and genuine care I felt throughout the sessions.

GW says: Best thing I’ve done! Constantly second guessed myself, stressed and ran away from job opportunities through fear and anxiety. From the first session Annette turned this around for me and has changed my life with new confidence, job and outlook on life can’t thank her enough. Well worth the investment in myself!!

BR says: I felt Annette made a positive difference to my mindset very early on. Having tried counselling previously I have never had such a positive and helpful result. I am embracing the new me!!
