I have been practicing Solution Focused Hypnotherapy since 2016 and prior to this, I worked as a social worker supporting people through difficult times in their lives. My interest in hypnotherapy was first triggered during completion of my psychology degree more than 20 years ago. As part of the neuroscience module, I examined hypnotherapy and its positive effects on the brain. I was fascinated at how this deep state of relaxation could physically alter the brain, so it functions differently, allowing us to feel calmer and more in control. I saw first-hand evidence of how this meditative state works when travelling through Asia in my 20’s, observing the Buddhist culture.
I always wondered how I could bring this beneficial state of calm to the people I work with, and I found the answer in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. The thing I love the most about Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is that it teaches you to manage your own thoughts and feelings and provides you with evidence-based techniques that you can continue to use long after completing hypnotherapy with me. My experience allows me to draw on a wealth of resources and previous client experience to ensure the right approach for you.
I have experienced some difficult times in my life. I know how it feels to be anxious all the time, overwhelmed by life and what it throws at you. I see many people in my practice experiencing similar problems. My clients tell me they lack confidence and struggle to find time for themselves. They also find it difficult in social situations, never feeling good enough. Clients tell me how they find it difficult to reach their full potential in work or in sports activities. I often hear how they just want to feel happier, more confident, and more in control.

I have recently contributed to a book, The Art of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, writing a case study around suicide prevention. It was my lifelong experience of working with people in crisis that allowed me to write about this.
Since training as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, I have completed a level 3 course in counselling which I also bring to my practice. However, the thing that I love most is hypnotherapy. That is because I see it working every day, changing the lives of the people I work with for the better.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified clinical hypnotherapist and psychotherapist. I have the Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma (HPD) and the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) having completed the gold standard training delivered through the Clifton Practice.
The diploma is accredited by the NCFE and qualification results in registration with the Association of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH), The National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH), and the National Board of Modern Psychotherapists (NBfMP) which are regulated by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
To maintain my professional registration I have regular supervision with a qualified hypnotherapy supervisor and I regularly attend continued professional development to enable me to keep my practice up to date and relevant.
In addition to my hypnotherapy diploma I have a BSc Honours degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Social Work. I have been working with people offering assessment and therapeutic advice and intervention for 20 years.
Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy
The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) was set up to provide information about a modern form of Hypnotherapy and its associated benefits to members of the public. The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.

I offer face to face sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesdays, I offer online and telephone sessions (although these can be provided on any weekday).
