About me

You are probably reading this because there is something you would like to change about your life. It is likely that hypnotherapy can help you to make that change.

Whether it be depression, anxiety, confidence issues or a phobia, hypnotherapy uses a combination of psychotherapy and hypnosis to help you become the person you want to be.

The psychotherapy or talking element of the therapy focuses on the workings of the brain and how to make positive changes while the hypnosis allows access to the sub- conscious mind to allow those changes to be embedded.

At Bridge Hypnotherapy I specialise in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy which is future orientated and, as the name suggests, focuses on the solutions. It recognises that there is no need to analyse problems of the past and the whole session is a very positive, relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified clinical hypnotherapist and psychotherapist. I have the Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma (HPD) and the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) having completed the gold standard training delivered through the Clifton Practice.

The diploma is accredited by the NCFE and qualification results in registration with the Association of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH), The National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH), and the National Board of Modern Psychotherapists (NBfMP) which are regulated by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

To maintain my professional registration I have regular supervision with a qualified hypnotherapy supervisor and I regularly attend continued professional development to enable me to keep my practice up to date and relevant.

In addition to my hypnotherapy diploma I have a BSc Honours degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Social Work. I have been working with people offering assessment and therapeutic advice and intervention for 12 years.

Member organisations

Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) was set up to provide information about a modern form of Hypnotherapy and its associated benefits to members of the public. The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

If you have been diagnosed or suspect you may have one of the medical conditions starred above, you should consult your GP for advice, diagnosis and treatment and always inform your health professional before starting any alternative or additional therapies or treatments.

I offer a FREE initial consultation which allows us to meet and to discuss how hypnotherapy can help you.

It will also allow me to explain a little bit about how hypnotherapy works and for you to ask any questions you may have.

Subsequent costs depend on what is required. See my website for further information.

Further information

For me, my client's happiness is my greatest reward. One of my clients made the following comment:

Hypnotherapy has shifted my mind set from being trapped in a negative spiral to thinking more rationally and calm. By positively altering my perspective, hypnotherapy has enabled me to feel more confident and break free from negative, self-destructive bad habits. I would highly recommend giving hypnotherapy a go and Amy is fantastic at what she does and also very approachable.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a hypnotherapist's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the hypnotherapist to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
