Hi, I'm Alex and I'm an enthusiastic clinical hypnotherapist based in Poole, Dorset and Twickenham, London with over 10 years experience practising hypnotherapy and specialising in treating anxiety, sleep problems and phobias.
With a background in psychology and clinical hypnotherapy, I help people who are suffering from unwanted anxiety, learn how to reduce stress, release worries, overcome phobias/bad habits and improve sleep, so that they can wake up every morning feeling alive, blessed, energised and fully present.
I chose this field due my own personal experience of suffering from anxiety in my younger years which consisted of OCD, phobias and debilitating insomnia to boot. It was only through learning the power of hypnosis that I managed to overcome my anxiety issues which were holding me back in life, and now as a hypnotherapist I enjoy helping others in similar predicaments.
I currently practise hypnotherapy in Poole, but continue to see a variety of clients for online sessions who live further away.

I specialise in the fields of anxiety and sleep, helping my clients to:

- Let go of worries (past and future) and intrusive negative thoughts so they can be more in the present

I am very enthusiastic about what I do, and I thoroughly enjoy helping clients to be free from the shackles of anxiety in order to lead a more fulfilling life. I have a warm and friendly approach and there usually is a lot of laughing during my client sessions.
I use hypnosis in conjunction with other complementary therapies such as EFT (tapping) and mindfulness. I also teach effective techniques which empower my clients to be able to reduce anxiety and release worries outside of our sessions.
What to Expect in a Session
Our sessions will be 1 hour long, and they will include hypnosis and the learning and practising of easy to learn tools and techniques to help you reach your goals in a short a time as possible. I also give out relaxing hypnosis recordings to listen to in between sessions to compound what was done in the sessions. You also get homework to ensure speedy progress, which you are expected to do and report back on our follow up sessions, (don't worry it won't be too much homework)! I offer online hypnotherapy sessions for clients to be taken in the convenience of your own home.

When I'm not working or doing the school run, you will find me either visiting the many historical castles that Dorset has to offer or being dragged along the beach by my boisterous husky dog Zebedee. Finally I have a passion for learning, so I am constantly studying the latest techniques to help with unwanted anxiety, so rest assured for every tool or technique I teach my clients, I have tried and tested it out on myself first!
Overcoming Social Anxiety
Ellisha-Jade came to see me after suffering from severe social anxiety and panic attacks after appearing on the popular ITV show Love Island in 2017. It was a joy to help her overcome both issues and help get her out into busy places again enjoying life to the fullest.
Overcoming the Fear of Driving
Tracey had a huge fear of driving and it was restricting her life immensely. Through a few sessions of hypnotherapy with me Tracey is now back on the road enjoying the freedom that driving provides!
Lee suffered from broken sleep during the night combined with an active mind at night which made it difficult for him to fall back asleep. After harnessesing Lee with some useful techniques to calm his mind down at night and putting him into very deep states of hypnosis in our bi-weekly sessions he was able to sleep through the night and again enjoy the pleasures of a good night's sleep .
Overcoming an Unwanted Habit
Lauren suffered from an unwanted and embarrasing habit since birth, which she carried out in the day and at to help her sleep at night too. Through only a couple of hypnosis sessions with me, Lauren is happily free of this habit and can sleep well, without having to resort to the old habit anymore.
Overcoming Sports Anxiety
Jody came to see me as he had severe anxiety when putting in golf competitions which was ruining his handicap and his joy of the game. Using a combination of hypnosis and various techniques I taught him to use during each game, Jody's handicap has now gone from the high 20's into the teens and he is winning competitions for the first time ever.

I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist who qualified at London’s renowned Institute of Clinical Hypnosis, in 2004. I also have a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Psychology from The University of Warwick.
My qualifications include:

- General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
The General Hypnotherapy Register
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
