Hello! I'm Helen and I'm a clinical hypnotherapist.
People often think that hypnotherapy starts with a watch being moved back and forth in front of your eyes, but it doesn't!
Much like any therapy, hypnotherapy begins with us getting to know one another and me finding out exactly what I can help you with. Only then will the hypnotherapy begin.
Clinical hypnotherapy quietens and calms the mind that's usually so busy and allows deep and lasting changes to happen as a result. My words are always tailored to your needs and I will provide you with a recording for you to use at home.
I want you to feel comfortable with me, so that the work is as effective as possible and I have created a welcoming and relaxing space in my office in Nelson Street, Southend, to help put you at ease, complete with cushions and blankets to help you feel cosy and warm. Some people prefer to meet remotely online, so they can continue to enjoy the feeling of relaxation or even fall asleep once the session had ended. Please let me know if that's you!

Training, qualifications & experience
- Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy Level 4, accredited by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council
- MA in Infant Mental Health
- MA in Psychological Therapies with Children, Adolescents and Families
Member organisations
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level. All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
Having worked with expectant and new parents for over thirty years, teaching about birth and parenthood, I am particularly well placed to support people experiencing anxiety around birth and depression following the birth of your baby. This applies to both the birthing parent and the non-birthing parent.

£60.00 per session
Additional information
I am always willing to discuss lower fees if this would make hypnotherapy more accessible for you.
If you buy a block of 5 sessions, the total will be £250.
Further information
The sessions will usually follow the pattern of an initial discussion to see how I can help and for you to decide if you like my approach. This session is free.
We will then have a first hypnotherapy session where we talk about your goals for the work and then proceed with the hypnosis. After this, I will send you a recording to use at home.
Depending on the issue, we will then meet three or four times more to ensure your goals have been achieved, starting each session with a brief review of how you are feeling so I can make adjustments if needed.
