About me

** Help with anxiety, confidence and stop smoking **

I work with Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, a relaxing combination of talking therapy and hypnosis. It is a very empowering process that enables you to change the way you think in order to achieve positive change in your life.

I also specialise in Stop Smoking / Quit Vaping Therapy.

My Experience

I have over 12 years clinical experience. My areas of expertise include helping people with anxiety and confidence issues, whether you're struggling with general anxiety or have a very specific fear. I am also experienced in helping with IBS, pain management and insomnia.

Throughout my years in practice I have been delighted with the results that hypnotherapy can achieve. Whilst I have worked mostly in private practice, for several years I also worked within the NHS at the University Hospital of Wales. During this time I helped patients (receiving treatment for cancer) with anxiety related issues.

Some of the issues I can help include:

  • General Anxiety, Panic Attacks and Stress
  • Fear of Flying and Driving Anxiety
  • Phobias (including emetophobia)
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Low Confidence and Self-esteem
  • Depression and Lack of Motivation
  • Alcohol Control
  • Stop Smoking / Quit Vaping

TESTIMONIALS

Here are some of the things clients have said about their experience of hypnotherapy:

"I feel so much calmer, more able to cope and more confident".

"I'm enjoying life again and not battling to get by."

"Through hypnotherapy I have turned my life around. "

What to Expect from Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

The first part of each hypnotherapy session consists of talking therapy. In this part of the session we discuss your needs and goals. Using solution-focused questions I help you to imagine your preferred future, a future where you have a more useful perspective on the quality of your life. This positive psychotherapy work is then enhanced by the use of hypnosis.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a very pleasant state of relaxation, similar to day dreaming. You remain awake and totally in control at all times. In this deeply relaxed state your subconscious mind is more receptive to beneficial suggestions, accepting directions to promote positive change.

Initial Consultation

The initial consultation is an essential part of the hypnotherapy process. In this session we talk about what's prompted you to seek help and what you hope to achieve from the therapy. I will explain how the brain works in relation to whatever issue is bothering you and how hypnotherapy can help you. Following the consultation I will provide you with a hypnosis track to listen to at home between sessions.

There is no hypnosis session during the initial consultation, but it is a very powerful session giving you information that can be extremely helpful.

Number of Sessions

The number of hypnotherapy sessions required varies from person to person and will depend on your needs and preferences. My goal is to work with you for the shortest time necessary for you to achieve the changes you want to make.

As a general guide, the number of sessions may range from 4 for a specific phobia, 6 - 10 for generalised anxiety to 8 - 12 for clinical depression.

Stop smoking / quit vaping therapy is a one-off session of two hours.
