About me
Combining evidence-based hypnotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy, CBH helps you understand what's keeping you stuck and what to do about it.
We'll usually work together online or in person for a limited time (6-12 sessions), in a highly structured way that goes at a suitable, while also suitably challenging, pace for you.
As well as self-confidence issues and phobias, CBH is highly effective for a range of problems including stress, mild or moderate depression and anxiety (including social anxiety).
A session can include:
- conceptualisation (understanding the problem and what keeps it going)
- teaching self-hypnosis
- deep mind and body relaxation
- hypnotic work involving suggestion, relaxation and monoideism (focusing on a specific idea or goal)
- desensitisation to a feared object, creature or scenario
- setting behavioural goals
- relapse prevention

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Additional information
A free initial session usual lasts 10-20 minutes. It's beneficial to help you understand how I work and whether I'm the right 'fit' for you. It also helps me understand whether the problem you want help with is in within my own areas of competence.
