About me

Meg Palmer hypnotherapist  trained at the Clifton Practice in Bristol, the leading training centre for Solution Based Brief Hypnotherapy in the UK. She is a member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and is bound by their code of practice. Meg maintains full Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Meg is a mother of 3 and before training as a hypnotherapist worked as a teacher for pupils with emotional and behaviour difficulties for over 20 years.

At Torrington Hypnotherapy, modern hypnotherapy combines clinically proven therapeutic techniques with the state of trance to help people make significant positive changes within relatively short periods of time. Working with Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, we look at what you want to achieve or change in your life rather than on the problem(s) that prompted you to seek  change. The approach focuses on the present and future and not on the past.   Using solution focused hypnotherapy we ask you to consider your preferred future, for instance, “what would be better if the problem had improved?”  “What would have changed?”  This enables your possible solutions to become more apparent and worked towards.
Hypnosis itself reduces anxiety and this is done very simply through relaxation and visualisation, allowing you to focus on the positive aspects of your life that encourages a shift in perspective. Resolving unwelcome habits and thought patterns at a subconscious level means that hypnosis can help the parts that other approaches can’t reach!

An Initial Consultation is just £10 and advisable so we can discuss how hypnotherapy can help you and dispel any fears or anxieties you may have about it.  After the initial consultation you will know if the hypnotherapy is going to help you and if you want to go ahead with sessions; there is absolutely no obligation to do so.
