Lynne Woods BSc (Hons), MNCH (Reg), HPD
My name is Lynne, I am a fully qualified clinical hypnotherapist, nutritional therapist and holistic healthcare practitioner located in Oakham, Rutland. My experience and expertise are in weight loss, obesity and addictions, and I have also had success with insomnia, anxiety and depression.
Having been in business offering holistic health care and clinical nutritional advice consultations since 2001, I am finding these therapies really complement each other and get good results. Having a sound back ground in nutritional therapy and weight loss management, I can help you to lose weight in a safe, effective and healthy way which lasts for life!
Whatever the issue, my primary goal is to help you to move forward, realising your goals, improving mind-set and attaining better health in a safe, realistic and achievable manner, to reach the results you really want!
So why use Hypnotherapy - During the process of hypnotherapy, thoughts, feelings and emotions can be explored and accessed from the subconscious mind. Life events and experiences are all stored in this area of the mind. In some cases some experiences are not fully processed or dealt with. This can be due to associated fear, trauma or other beliefs which block or supress certain pathways of thought. Hypnosis can help to gently unblock and process experiences, leading to a healthier, acceptable outcome. Addictions, habits, fears, thoughts and phobias can all be worked on through the subconscious mind. You will remain fully aware and in control at all times.
If I book with you, how long does the treatment sessions and how often will I need to attend - I offer free 30-minute consultations to see if you respond to hypnotherapy and that you feel it would help you situation. From there you can decide whether you want to continue. Treatment times and sessions can vary depending on your circumstances and needs. The first session lasts for 90 minutes and further appointments last for 60 minutes. Usually they are on a weekly basis. Typically between 1 to 5 sessions. Sometimes 1-2 sessions are ideal, especially if you adopt a self-help programme alongside the therapy sessions. Some analytical work, exploring deep emotional issues, may take longer, whereby the solution focused goal setting work often involves less time.
Hypno weight Reduction - Only 2% of people who “go on diets” manage to lose weight permanently. This complete tried and tested programme offers powerful but gentle techniques that really work. A five week course to access your subconscious mind to re-programme the way you eat and the way you think about food for life.
HypnoGastric Band therapy - A gentle but powerful process offering an innovative approach to weight loss. Hypnogastric band is a safer, non-invasive alternative to radical surgery and is proving very successful. The hypnogastric band process helps to convince the unconscious mind that a gastric band has been fitted so the body then behaves as if it were physically present. This approach is offered in two 90 minute sessions following the weight-loss programme.
I work from a comfortable setting in my own home, a local gym, and can offer home visits if required, so please do get in touch to see how I can help you. I am also able offer appointments at Uppingham doctors surgery one day a month - please contact me for availability. Thank you for taking time to read about the services I have to offer you, I look forward to hearing from you.

Information about health conditions (*)
Nutritional therapy can help enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting nutritional therapy or making any major changes to your diet or lifestyle.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

"After around 20 years of sleeping badly and the tiredness I associated with it, having taken lots of different tablets from the doctor and various pills & potions of different natural remedies, I thought I had nothing to lose in trying hypnotherapy.
I think my preconception, probably like most peoples would be, was that I would be "out of it" as this is what you see on television with hypnosis. However, it's actually more like a deep relaxation session that I've often experienced within my yoga classes, the only difference being how and what's being said to you.
Following discussion of my history and diet with Lynne we introduced subtle changes to my diet and then, through a two week diet diary, Lynne soon highlighted things in my diet that I reacted well to and not so well to. For me eating a small fillet of mackerel when I was feeling tired was like giving me an energy injection!
This may seem like an obvious/small thing to some, but in the busy world we live in sometimes we don't see, or analyse, what's right in front of us and this focus and change in my diet has been like a light bulb moment that has changed the way I eat but more importantly feel.
My sleep has significantly improved but more importantly my relationship with it has taken a massive leap forward, all due to simply making some changes to my diet. I only needed 3 sessions with Lynne to get me on the right road - if only I'd realised that 20 years ago!
Thanks again Lynne - you've totally turned this on it's head"! Julie Old, County Council. Oakham.
