About me

Client centred, solution focused therapy, looking to get results within first two or three sessions. My work draws on years of experience and passion around hypnosis, an interest in how we develop, grow and maintain habits, the false belief that we are fixed in certain patterns, often nurturing anxiety, both behavioural and psychological, and, ultimately, how we best work to change this using our own personal untapped resources.

I work mostly with adults, all ages, and anxiety, in its various guises, but hypnotherapeutic applications are interesting, wide and varied. Always happy to discuss any specific situation and how relevant hypnotherapy might be, I offer a no-charge initial chat, in person or on phone to establish suitability, the client/therapist relationship is important to get right.

My style of hypnotherapy blends talking therapy with using naturally occurring brainwave shifts to capitalise on redirecting neural pathways. Sometimes conversational, sometimes more traditional, eyes closed, listening, focused, occasionally more active. No two sessions are the same, each one moulding itself from what we have.

My interests are in the science of hypnosis, advances in how trauma is being understood and treated, mind body connections, placebo effects, the science of belief, research in the use of psychedelics for depression and how hypnosis fits in to all this. A common thread through my hypnotherapy work is the learning, applying and strengthening of what it is we can best do to help ourselves, recover, improve, change.

So, whether it's to do with any of the above, insomnia, IBS symptoms, pain management, loss of confidence around driving or elsewhere, life changes/hormonal/life stage shifts for women, often less acknowledged life stage shifts for men, external pressures, adjusting to a neurodivergent diagnosis, therapy to complement anxiety or weight loss medication, irrational fears, young adult identity, doom scrolling addiction, breakdown in relationships or so much more, maybe it's time to look for a new solution in hypnotherapy.
