About me

Experienced, friendly, professional and confidential help available for matters relating to the mind.

In 2013 I moved back to the North East after 25 years in London.  I'd had a full-time Hypnotherapy practice in Covent Garden since September 2011.

I find that I get a lot of clients seeking help with weight loss.  I have struggled with my own weight since my late teens and became a hypnotherapist after receiving hypnotherapy for weight loss myself.  The change was remarkable.  My whole approach to food and how I felt about myself changed. I still have some weight I'd like to lose, but my experiences mean that I am non-judgemental and I DO UNDERSTAND.

If you have ever struggled to shift the weight, knowing what you SHOULD be doing, but somehow just can't seem to do it, or need to prevent yourself self-sabotaging or emotional eating, get in touch.

I offer a blend of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and coaching - and together we can work out the best program for you.

My speciality, however, is helping people after the death of their pet.  I even help advise other therapists how to help clients with this sensitive subject.

STOP PRESS! I am pleased to have been one of the 'go to' experts for The Telegraph, Newsweek, talkRADIO, BBC Radio Tees, Zetland FM and The Parenting Daily.

You can hear and read about it on my social media.

Training, qualifications & experience

I gained my Hypnotherapy Diploma at the Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnosis.
I have had additional training for Sports Hypnotherapy, Hypnotherapy for Children and Hypno-Club Group Hypnosis. (Based on 7 Paths Hypnosis.)
I gained a distinction in my Grief and Bereavement Counselling Diploma from Stonebridge College and I specialise in treating Pet Grief (helping clients after the death of their pet.)

My professional associations are The Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy and I am listed on The National Register of Psychotherapists and Counsellors.

I am trained in BWRT (Brain Working Recursive Therapy). BWRT is an amazing form of psychotherapy that requires NO TRANCE.
The client doesn't need to reveal their private thoughts - as long as they can explain what they want to change. Many issues can be sorted out in one or two sessions.

In 2022 I was invited to present a lecture at The BWRT World Congress.

The lecture was about how to help sports people overcome any mental blocks that may be inhibiting their performance. This is another area of expertise that I work in. There are videos and testimonials on my Facebook page.

For more details visit   http://www.bwrt.org/  or http://www.bwrt-northeast.co.uk/

I occasionally use Tapping with my clients and I am trained in TFT (Thought Field Therapy.

I am a registered Hypno-Band Practitioner.  This is the original virtual gastric band therapy, as used in TV's Embarrassing Bodies program.  It can be difficult to become a Hypno-Band Practitioner, as the therapist must be registered with The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council and only a few licenses are granted each year.
For more information about Hypno-Band visit http://www.hypnoband.com/index.htm

I am an OldPain2Go Practitioner.  OldPain2Go is a unique way to help clients that have pain that has been diagnosed by a medical practitioner as pain that is no longer serving a purpose (for instance, all that can be done for them is to be prescribed pain killers).  For more information and video testimonials:  https://oldpain2go.com/client-testimonials

My CNHC Registration Number is CNHC01730.
The Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council was set up with government support to protect the public and make sure that the highest standards are maintained.
This is not just another register that therapists can pay to be on. Rigorous checks are made to see that training is up to date and of a high standard, that the therapists are insured and comply with the Data Protection Act.

If you look on my Facebook page, Saltburn Hypnotherapy,  or on my personal Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/julie.spitler.96) you can see photos of some of my client's successes and read about their experiences.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

I help grieving pet parents after the death of a pet, using a blend of hypnotherapy and grief counselling.

Sometimes this presents as a different issue such as anxiety, over eating or drinking, or guilt.  If you need to say your most Loving Goodbye to a pet, no matter when they died, get in touch.

Any clients who are under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, or if working remotely have them in the the room with you.

Over the last year 2 have seen several young gymnasts and tumblers with mental blocks that had been holding them back. Word has spread and I see many young people who have needed help to improve their performance in lots of different areas.
