Weight loss is easy... but be patient
"Weight loss is easy" - I know is quite a statement to make. Let's be honest, I (well at the time of writing) don't have lots of well-paid celebrity endorsements to read out a pre-prepared statement mentioning that fact, nor do I have a range of "diet" cakes or puddings.
But seriously, ask yourself this, "how do you maintain a healthy weight?" Chances are you can probably skip the obvious answer involving eating the right foods, at the right times and the right portion sizes. You would probably add in a positive mindset and a relatively active lifestyle.
You are an expert at weight loss. What is also true, regardless of how you try to maintain a healthy weight, is that first, you have to get strong. That is strong with intent, both mentally and physically.
What is also very important to understand is that you also need to "stop the rot". In other words, working with a professional hypnotherapist, we need to stop the gaining of further weight... put the brakes on as some might say, and then allow the mind and body to adjust to what should be a permanent healthy (and happy) lifestyle.
What is also important... very important...is why. Why would someone have an issue with their weight? Are they depressed, are they shy, do they lack confidence... or in some cases, just plain lacking discipline and lazy? Bit harsh I know... but my point being is that how much time does the diet industry spend with an individual to see if they are psychologically strong?
One area that customers are sometimes put-off by hypnotherapy in the UK is that you are probably expected to pay. Well get out the calculator, work out on average how much you spend on "naughty eating" per day, and multiply this by 365. Then hold that thought for the final part of this article.
However, if you go to a slimming or weight club... there are quite a few, and you are paying £5 a week membership, that equates to over £250 each and every year... and how much of that is one to one?

Hypnosis over 30 times as effective for weight loss
Investigated the effects of hypnosis in weight loss for 60 females, at least 20% overweight. Treatment included group hypnosis with metaphors for ego-strengthening, decision making and motivation, ideomotor exploration in individual hypnosis, and group hypnosis with maintenance suggestions. Hypnosis was more effective than a control group 17lbs vs. 0.5 lbs on follow-up.

In my opinion, diets don't work! Forget diets, time to get strong, and forget fads, shakes and surgery.
The weight industry
According to an article published on Sage Business Researcher the diet industry in 2018, was worth more than $70 billion (approximately £54 billion). I have had countless number of clients come to me and say "I did the (insert name) diet and lost a lot of weight in a year...and then I put it ALL back on again... and then some...". I dare say other professionals reading this have heard the same story.
Sometimes when I think of the diet industry, that is exactly what it is... an industry. To keep it simple... is it in their best interests for you to lose weight quickly and then stop using their products and services?
When working with a professional hypnotherapist, customers expect permanent results without the hypnotherapist becoming a dependent crutch for the rest of their lives. Apart from that, we work with a whole range of issues, we are not a one trick pony.
The diet industry sometimes reminds me of the nicotine replacement industry. I remember a few years ago that in the U.S, let us assume the patches worked... for now.. the problem then for the industry was that then the customer has no need for them... and the money would stop.
Being successful was not profitable in the long run. Was there not a rumour that they wanted smokers to stay on the patches for the rest of their lives? Could it have been argued that instead of spending hundreds of dollars per month smoking, why not pay a smaller amount on patches every month for the rest of their lives and never smoke again?
Therefore one can reasonably ask, is it in the diets industries best interests for you to stop using their products/services?
In a nutshell, and this is my opinion, weight loss begins in the mind. The sources mentioned have added independent evidence to back up my claim. No fads, no temporary fixes, just using your own mind to work for you.
Therefore, why not lose weight, feel great... go shopping (because junk food is expensive).
