Meet your higher self

Hello, I want to introduce you to your ‘highest self.’

What does it mean to be your 'highest self'?

When I talk about your highest self, I'm referring to the best version of you, free of limiting beliefs and fears, happy and living a life filled with purpose and fulfilment.

You may be thinking, "urgh, that's not possible". But I can tell you now, that you being here, reading this means that somewhere within you believes that version of you is possible.

So bear with me… read this article, then close your eyes, tune in to your breath and connect to a place deeper within you than your thinking mind...

How to practice your highest self

When your thoughts have settled, bring an image of your highest self to mind.

  • What do they look like?
  • What are they wearing?
  • What is their hair like?
  • How do they hold themselves?

Become clear on the external, perhaps surface-level things that allow you to know how that version of you presents itself to the world.

Then, let’s delve a little deeper….

  • What is that person doing? Both for work and in their personal time for fun.
  • What are their hobbies?
  • Who do they hang out with?
  • Where are they living?
  • Who are they living with?

You don’t have to have all the answers at this stage, just play with some of these things.

Now, let’s delve even deeper…

  • What are that persons day to day thoughts?
  • How does that person speak to themselves?
  • What are their goals and dreams?

Now take pen to paper and note some of these things, highlighting what that person is doing differently from what your present self does.

Then, when you have built some awareness and clarity around this, make a list of five things that you can start doing today to start embodying that version of you.

So little by little, you become your highest self.

You're not waiting for the next job promotion or the next three pounds to loose, you're acting as if you are already that person.

Because so often we wait. And by waiting, we forget what we can do today to help ourselves.

Our thoughts lead to our feelings, and feelings lead to our behaviours.

How can hypnotherapy help you become your highest self?

My work is centred around changing our thoughts, but if we reverse that and look at changing behaviours, it could impact how we feel and then think.

I have a really clear vision of my highest self in my mind and take time to connect with her. If I am going through a stressful situation I ask her: "how would you deal with this?" If I have a hard decision to make: "what would you do in this situation?".

What this comes down to is this: all the answers you need are already within you.

Our wisdom comes from within, and by connecting to our breath and that deeper place within us, we find the answers we need.

If you want to give this a go for yourself, enrolling in my therapy programme allows you to delve deeper and more on a one-to-one basis, helping you become the best version of yourself.
